my xtm keeps quiting!

A few days ago I said that my xtm 18 wouldn't start. well i found out that this was due to a faulty glow plug.[X(] so i bought some o.s. no. 8's and it worked!:D But the next day i ran it in the morning and later that afternoon i took it to a party to show my friends and family and it refused to start and i ended up getting left in the dust by my uncle's electric losi graphite![:@] earlier today i ran my xcell (with my last plug) but it was too lean and tried to quit so i richened the valve and immidiately after i throttled the engine quit. i restarted and it kept dieing after taking out the igniter. the cause: another bad plug[:o] the engine keeps burning up the plugs after 1-2 runs. should i be using 8's? if not what's the best plug for my engine? any sugestions will help a lot!

As you probably know, running too rich is better than running too lean.
I had an xtm x-cellerator a while back and it ran well with mc-59's. I rarely had to replace the plug.

I used an mc 59 and it's already burned. it will still light but the engine quits after removing the igniter[:@] how do i deal with this heat problem?[:o]

"it will still light but the engine quits after removing the igniter" What a pain.[:@] With my old X-C, an mc-59 would last me a very long time. It sounds like it's not the plug's fault though at this point. You almost must be running too lean(which easily ruins plugs by melting the coil) or something like that. All I can recommend is get it running rich again, even if it takes one or two more plugs.[&:] Don't give up.

The October issue of RC Driver magazine(newest release) has a section in it about reading glow plugs, maybe you could run in to your local book store and check it out, that would probably help a lot.;)

Good luck.

I read that issue of rc driver at school, helped alot![8D] But by the time i read it i stopped using mc59's. i use os lc3's now. (my engine was fine on the needles it just needed some heat) But I haven't run it in... I lost track! Im benched right now because the head button is stripped:(
