im really mad today because i feel i have just been ripped off big time. I had the classified ad for my like new JR XS3 Pro and i sold it like a week ago, i actually traded it to some guy for something that i have really been wanting recently, a very much like new Canon SLR camera. ANd since the camera is worth a but more than the camera i threw in a Superbrain charger and i new Trinity T spec touring car, which in my eyes kinda makes my end of the deal worth a bit more but i really wanted the camera and am getting out of the hobby anyway. So we agreed to both send out our packages the same day, which was last week wednesday, and he already recieved my package but the tracking for the camera thats supposed to come to me only says shipping info recieved, which im pretty sure means it hasnt been shipped yet. And ive been emailing the guy like crazy and he hasnt replied for a few days already. And what really sucks is im only 12 and dont have a job and the radio took a years worth of allowance to save up for, and the other stuff was all gifts to me. So im really bummed out and ya i really trusted buying stuff online til now and have made a few purchases and have traded a couple times as well. But now thanks to that jerk i will not easily trade or buy online again, its guys like those that really ruin what could be an amazingly awesome thing, and ya it just really sucks that theres guys like that out there.

first, if he shipped it via the post office then it will say "shipping info received" till the day after you get it. If it was UPS/Fedex he may be waiting for them to pick it up and/or he shipped it supersaver which is WAY slow. I would alert your parents but I would wait a little longer before alerting police.

he was shipping USPS to this shipping company thats near my town. and ya i guess theres maybe a little hope it still might be coming but i pretty much lost hope that hes not replying to emails. SO fat1 your saying it can say Shipping info recieved right til i get it? and how would i get the police involved?

You can contact his local police dept for theft and the FBI for fraud . I`ve had to do this in the past when I used to trade on RCU and it will get the issue resolved .

k ya because i live in canada just ten minutes from the US border and i was gonna get the camera shipped to this shipping service i always get everything in that is just in the US like fifteen minutes from my house. And ya hopefully this guy emails me like really soon or i will have to get the cops involved. So Dawman how did it get resolved? did you get the trade or wat exactly did the police do?

The police first went over and talked to the kid about it and naturally denied everything . I gave them copies of all messages and emails and the link to the trade details . A week went by and the officer called and said I would be getting the item I traded back and if it wasn`t in the same condition when I sent it to let them know . Got it back in a few days and everything was good . But , had another case similar and the police wanted me to travel to his state to go to court . Well , it wasn`t worth missing a few days of work . So it was a hard lesson learned and I stopped trading unless the other person had 100% rating and more than 5 trades .

dont jump the gun so soon, if he shipped via post office then it will say shippment info received... i am actually going threw the same thing right now... wait a few days and see what happens, your in canada where was the camera??? it can sometimes take about 2 weeks to get mail to canada and vice versa using the post office.

ya im in canada but the other guy lives in the states and im getting it shipped to the states to a mailing service i always get things shipped too, because i live just ten minutes from the border. and ya i hope your right cheech4

Wow that sucks and another thing, all the stuff you included add up to more than a standard cannon SLR. Im 14 but I know a few things about the classifieds. Dont give up hope its probly still coming but just for the future know this: If somone is intrested in you ad check their ratings and if they have less than you make them ship the package and get you the tracking number first befor you send out your item.

ya today the package still isnt in the mail and the jerk still hasn't replied to the many emails i have sent him. So im pretty sure i got screwed over. and i also called the place where the package is supposed to be coming to and they looked up the tracking number and said that the package hasn't even been delivered yet according to the tracking number. this really sucks

Being that he hasn`t responded back and the shipping company has said , I`d be calling the police yesterday .

man, thats real crappy. Thats why you should always ask your parents, im sure that they would have a better solution to your online "trade". We all learn lessons every day, so you can take that out of this experience. Hopefully the police thing will work for you, good luck

my parents did have influence on this, and the guy gave me his ebay account name and it was perfect. so ya. and Dawman you think i should call the police where he lives? how do i find the number of his police station

I frequently buy RC parts online/e*bay from the US. So it usually takes more waiting time if the seller uses USPS becuase of broder/customs examination. Usually 7 to 10 calendar days depending on the size and value of the package. If you instructed the seller to ship the goods on a pre-determined place in the USA, the package should be at the destination not more than 7 calendar days. If the seller used priority mail, it will only takes 4 days max. One thing that might happen is that the address was mis-labelled, postal code may be wrong and etc., therefore, USPS shipped it to the wrong address as indicated on the label. There could be a lot of reasons that happened along the way. If were you, wait for couple of days, it might show up soon. You can file a claim of 30 days have passed, if you also opted for a shipping insurance.

I can see shipping taking a while but the fact that the other person is not responding also is a good sign he is a scammer .

ya i can see it might take a while too, but the fact that my post office said that it appears that the package has'nt even been shipped yet and the fact that he is not replying even after i have left a bunce of emails kind of lets me know hes ripping me off. Has anyone hear of HPI_DK or ever done anything with him, because thats the guy that ripped me off, how can i report him as a scammer?

The exact same situation happened to me.

There's not much you can do, other than:

A) complete the Internet Fraud Complaint Form.

B) file a report of economic crime with the individuals local PD

Then, it's all in the hand of the authorities. Results will vary.

You can file a complaint with RCU when you are in your marketplace under ratings and security . Being he joined RCU this month , has no ratings , never posted in a thread and hasn`t signed back in on RCU since Oct.13 , it appears to me he planned on skammng someone IMO.

He is from Georgia and could take a while to reach you , but you mentioned he has your trade and hasn`t responded back to you at all . If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck , it`s more likely a duck .

ya im pretty much 100% sure i just got ripped. Well thanks alot for all the help Dawman, ill probably wait a few days just to make sure and then contact his local police and hopefully get it straightened out

Actually no you don`t . I went through this with RCU not too long ago . RCU has no way to know how old anyone is and can`t enforce any age limit . This is why they now have labels on ads "adult supervised " . This is what they told me when a kid was jacking me around , which at the time I didn`t know he was a kid . I notified them of the issue and put this label on his profile and ads .

Yea don't loose hope yet.... If it says shipping info received, that indicates that a package has been given to the post office and is currently shipping. Whoever said it above is correct; it will say electronic shipping info received until the day after you get the package (he shipped USPS). I have had people at the post office totally screw my shipping over and type in some whack zip code, and it sometimes took two weeks for them to re-route the package back to the correct destination.

I'd say that as long as it says shipping info received, you are good. Obviously him not responding to e-mails is not a good sign but USPS is known for slow shipping and horrible tracking. I'd wait it out another 4 or 5 days before acting.
