First thread, and a few questions
 

I just bought a used and slightly beat up WCM Grand National and I'm hooked on the hobby. Spent the last week or so fixing and tuning it, having a blast so far. My first question is, since this car is a bit large for day to day driving, what 1/16 - 1/8 scale nitros would you guys recommend? Mostly on road but I want to have the option of going off road so probably a buggy or low truck or something.

Secondly, are there any pneumatic tires available for 1/5 or quarterscale cars/trucks?

Thirdly, just to get a sense of how much trouble im now in, how much do you generally spend monthly on the hobby?

A good RTR 8th scale buggy is a CEN Matrix.

I'm not sure about any pneumatic tires, I'm not a 5th scale guy.

You can spend anywhere from $10 to $1000. I spend anywhere from $100 to $500. And thats without a job, when I get some income flowing, it will be a lot more than that sometimes.

The Matrix is a good buggy, safe choice. Also, this is still large scale but an FG Stadium Truck would be great as well, as I'm sure you're aware theres nothing like a gasser. Theyre big, but not as big as your grand national.

As for the pneumatic tires, I havnt seen any for 1/5 scale buy I do remember seeing some on a Pro1 grand national quarterscale once, but it was in person and I didnt get a chance to ask about them. But I'd assume they exist.

As for spending, hehe.... probably $500 a month on average, unless I get a new vehicle then its of course higher. My next toy might have to be a Pro1 sprint car.

Seems like I saw a set of home made pneumatics. Best as I can remember they installed an air valve, tire stem or what ever you call that thing, in the wheel and then glued the tire on. Then inflate. If there are holes in the wheel then they'd have to be sealed and I'd imagine it is pretty low pressure, maybe a pound or two.
