Guess I never seen much use in a shelf queen. Even when I built my 1946 UL Harley I rode it just about daily and every one said I should put it up but I did not see the fun in that. Did the same thing with my 1942 WL Harley. I did win many a show with both.

As it's you...we'll allow girls too!;)
Looks very nice, bit high for me but nice.
Is that rear wheel steer too?

Anomie 11-08-2007 06:57 PM

RE: shelf Queens THE Thread

Yes, 4-wheel steering, and I agree it sits too high for those tires. I think I'll try the Kongs on these rims and see what develops. It needs to crawl eventually, and these tires are much too wide anyway.

I'm looking forward to more shelf queens here [8D]

So true!

I wish I could say that my delays are all about the functionality, but I did want to make it pretty, too :D Some of the trucks that show up for sale here and there look like someone's life savings, and I sure do love to see them. To have a running vehicle just sitting... no way.

i love to look at them, i just dont like spending money on something that sits around and looses value. now i collect die cast cars but ill atleast get my money back with them.

My 4-tec

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/6749/dscn9539wh0.jpg

An older picture, but the list now includes:
-Graphite chassis
-TBS bearings all around, and in bellcrank
-Stainless steel hex hardware nearly everywhere
-Spektrum Z590 w/ Kimbrough saver
-Speedgems Pro Kobal
-LRP A.I. Pro Reverse
-Slipper clutch
-Big bores w/ TiN shafts in the mail
-Soon, rally conversion w/ graphite tie bar, and graphite rear shock tower

I bought this is rough shape, tore it apart and cleaned it. I'm slowly working on upgrading it, and haven't really run it yet. So I guess right now, it's a shelf queen, but once it's finished it will be bashed just as hard as my Rusty! Any yea, I know it's a Traxxas, but it's a fun project.

I think that truck would have to sit on a shelf. It certainly is shiny, and looks lovely sitting there, but some of those aluminum upgrades may not last long if they're put under stress :D

jatoracing33 12-05-2007 04:20 PM

RE: shelf Queens THE Thread

its got integy, a k&n air filter, and a "supercharger"...i dont even think its worth sittin on a shelf

Very nice Sheograth...but can't you find some bigger wheels for that...they look kinda small.;)

I dont get the point of a car you put $1000's of $ if you dont drive it. I put $750 in my e-maxx and I drive full speed (about 40 mph) off ever jump. (btw nice t-maxx, I like all the blue).
