um, get new fuel, if the fuel looks a bit old, BURN IT, trust me, bad fuel in an engine can be BAD STUFF, also check the glow plug, to make shure it isn't bad.... but other than that, FIRE IT UP [8D]

I'd put a few drops of oil down the carb/glow plug hole and cycle it first so you won't be dry scrubbing anything while trying to start it up.

Make sure nothing is lose, tighten all screws, especially ones prone to vibrations.

Check alignment, linkages, slop, batteries, proper controller operation.

I'd say then you're pretty much safe and good to go.

and don't forget to have fun with it, :D maybe you should consider getting a new reciever pack, due to the old age that it is in, if it does'nt seem to hold charge, GET A NEW ONE, the last thing you want is to be driving and the reciever dies, with the throt servo engaged, I don't think you are going to be getting your truck back[&o]

yeah, but still check it, but that one should be good, I remember hearing down at my LHS that if a battery pack for an RC ___________ is over like 1 yr old, REPLACE IT, since you don't want to have it die and then you loose whatever it is[:o]
