Fuel for hyper 7.

Hey, been running hyper 7 on 20% and needed to get some more. So i let my dad get some more from the hobby shop and that man gives him 16% saying your gettin 20% more heat and 2% lmore speed with 20 rather than 16. Is he right? I am personaly really anoyed because i said to my dad DONT let him give you 25 and DONT let him give you 16. Its so stressfull. Is this hobby man right?

I disagree. The guy at your LHS is an idiot, with higer nitro percentage, your engine actually runs cooler. Its because the more % of nitro, the faster it will ignite, thus reducing engine preassure which is good.

Its alright, but a lot of people on here say not to change your percentage of nitro.

I disagree with that too, I do it all the time, and have had engines last me a long time, as long as you follow the after run procedure, you should not have any problems.

No, it has more to do with the fact that more fuel goes through the engine and the nitro fuel actually cools the crank case.

GRAWWW i just showed my dad these posts and he still thinks that it will run hotter. Saying things like theres 20% nitro going in burning quicker and burning hotter. He wont listen. Hes just ignorant because he was a mechanic.

Just don't ask your dad and go and get the fuel you want. Problem solved.

Is it going to run hotter? I you run both fuel and you measure a temp of 230F with both. Which one is hotter?

I run 25% in both of my Hyper7's (.21 +.28)

I will not run anything under 20% nitro content and I agree with the others in this post the higher nitro content the cooler the engine runs. I all so have to say the guy at the hobby shop is not real bright!!!!! One thing that is very important is oil content as anything over 12% is not good.
