CVDs
hi all i was just wondering what are CVDs and what do they do????
|
RE: CVDs
I was told the other day that the cvd's take out alot of slop, compared too dog bones.
|
RE: CVDs
meaning???
|
RE: CVDs
Power delievery is better, much more efficent.
Plus they're tougher than dog-bones. |
RE: CVDs
Dog bones and universal drives have a slight oscillation in speed, CVDs (constant velocity drives) don't have this. They are also smoother, wear out slower, and are usually made tougher than dogbones or universal drives.

RE: CVDs
Also on many rally conversions the susp is made bigger leaving the dogbones at an angle they can fall out the cups holding them, the CVDS are joined so this doesnt happen.

RE: CVDs
if this is research to see if you should buy them, you should ;)

RE: CVDs
A constant velocity drive is a trademark of M.I.P. its a joint that lets the axle turn 360* while also allowing it to pivot with your sus*****on up and down left and right or a combination of both they are a very good upgrade to any RC platform unless already included. they let make your drivetrain smoother and more consistent. see http://www.rc411.com/pages/howto.php?howto=34&page=2 for asembly tips and how they work
