vx 18 pullstart question

1 Attachment(s)
is it possible to put a new string on the pullstart of a vx 18? i broke mine today and i'm tired of putting money into it hand over fist.i have already changed almost everything on this damn truck and it just isn't worth it in my opinion. i'm ready to throw it against the wall at this point. every time i try to even start it something breaks. this is the truck here.

you can but it's a pain in the ass you have to take it apart. rewind the new string then rewind the recoils spring then when your fingers are good and cramped from screwing with the spring for a hour you have to try and get it all back in the pull start housing.

Hey Jayson, do you know if it has the 1" or 1 1/4" bolt pattern on the pullstart?

RE: vx 18 pullstart question

Its really easy to re-string them if the metal coil is still in place. If the coil popped out them its a bit more of a pain to fix. I picked up a roll of pullstart string for $9 at my local hardware store, its enough to re-string it a good 50+ times. Shoot if you want to pay shipping, send me your pullstarts and I will re-string them.

Wade and Affordable are right .....
It can be done (done it Myself 2 or 3 times) and it CAN be a Pain in the Butt.
Its not really that hard, but in my experience, once you start repairing them, they dont seem to last very long.....
You'll be fixin it every week...
