Engine break-in stand?

I have an extremely tight engine (Rody C5) that I am going to be breaking in and I was wondering what some of you guys use to break-in your engines? I have read about a Hudy engine break-in stand but couldn't find much info about it.

Any suggestions regarding a engine stand would be helpful. I may just use a big vice with the engine mounted on some blocks of wood.

Anyways, any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

:D

most people i've seen just mount the engine in the car and use a starter box, but u can break in the motor using a airplane break in stand but u will need a airplane starter, prop, and spinner.

take the glowplug out and bump the motor on the starter box and try 2 loosen up the motor, then when u put the plug back in don't tighten it all the way leave it loose and try 2 start the car, if the motor gets stuck on top dead center use a srewdriver or something 2 pry between the flywheel and chassis

Engine break-in stand?

I paid something like 535 or something for the engine but it came with a larger cooling head. If you are interested in one go to ebay and check out a store named PDL. The guy Mike, I beleive is his name, if very helpful and when you buy an engine from him he takes it very seriously, almost like you are adopting a kid, but nonetheless very informative/helpful. He also had by far the best prices!!

Rody claims close to 3HP at, I think, approx 44K RPMs. check out RB concepts for more info.

I am putting the engine in a Hyper 7 pro.

I do have a really good starter box but the engine is so friggin' tight, with the plug out too, that I don't want to chew up the rubber wheel.

Besides, the "big boys" use engine stands or so that's what they say! :D
