bad steering servo?
hey i got my rc10gt recently. the kid b4 me took out the restrictor and the car flies. but every time i would floor from a stop the car would veer off to a side. i adjusted the steering and the car is pretty staright when im already going.
could it be a weak servo? i cut my clutch like 2 holes becuz my wheels would always move no matter how much i messed with the throttle trim. its now a whole lot better and doesnt veer off when i floor it, but it is a bit slower off the line. and oh yea i run my car on pro-line road rage street tires. i have the stock hitec servos and radio, so if i was to buy a new steering servo how much would it cost? would a JR XR2 radio come with all replacement servos? |
bad steering servo?
You shouldn't need much by way of steering trim. If you do, your car is out of whack. I would make sure that all of your turnbuckles are the correct lengths and thats your diff is properly set. You should be able to zero-out your trim and be VERY close to dead-straight.

bad steering servo?
umm, iv never seen a car where the steering is perfect from the factory, me and my friends always had to tinker with it a little bit.
so could horrible off-the-line oversteer be due to weak throttle servo? |
bad steering servo?
My RC 10 does the same thing. I have the steering trim set so it rolls almost perfectly straight, but under full throttle accelerating from a stop, it likes to veer to the right a bit. I think it may be a case of both rear wheels not receiving exactly the same amount of power. Could be the same thing you're experiencing.

bad steering servo?
thx grampi....did you take out the restrictor?
and also do your wheels always move at idle? |
bad steering servo?
No, I replaced the entire engine. I'm now running a Fantom .15. What do you mean do the wheels turn at idle?
|
bad steering servo?
mmmmm fantom .15...how do you like it?
i mean do your rear wheels spin by themselves? |
bad steering servo?
I wouldn't trade this Fantom for any other .15. If you mean does the truck move at idle, no it doesn't. I have the idle set low enough so it doesn't move.
