me my brother and the lad who lives next door are planning to go racing at the start of next seasons racing
and we need some help with what we should buy we would like to get 3 rtr cars as they are cheaper than kits and still fairly fast. first off we were thinking about the ntc3 rtr as i have read it is very fast and an all round good car or maybe the traxxs 4-tec is it says it will do 60 mph out of the box (bet that would make a mess of the living room at xmas) or is there another rtr which is as good or better second is body shells we want to use the new hpi rx7 boby is this race legal and does the shell affect the performace much as most ppl like to use stub nose cars like the dodge status but it looks pish. i hate yank cars (apart from the 67 shelby gt 500 ss) third is wheels i have read that the areo dish wheels give you better areodinamics than spoked wheels is this true and if so buy how much thanks mj :p |

i think for your situation that the aerodynamics of the body and wheels isnt something you should be concerned about yet.
the tc3 is a great rtr, and i am thinking of getting one myself.(that or the ld3). im new to on-road so for learning how to set up on road and get them dialed in the tc3 will be good for that. if your concerned about those aerodynamics issues, then you will will quickly find out when you go to the track and get beat a lot that aerodynamics shouldnt be your main worries. learning all the basics like tuning suspension and driving skills. jmo but "yank cars" RULE !!!!!!! |

british cars rule
best car ever the t440r tvr's 215 mph monster tuscan |
Maximum Racing
HA I think that TVR is one of the last British auto makers not owned by a yank company
|
Maximum Racing
i dont know any british cars made by yanks apart from jags
lotus-proton rolls-bmw marcos-brittish tvr-british noble-british mclaren-british jag-ford so erm only 1 is owned by yanks and ther aload of crap anyway |
Maximum Racing
ahh just trying to get a rise outta ya there. you seem to know a little. what about Rover and Aston Martin? owned by Ford. I'll leave you alone tho yer a Shelby fan. P.S. Jaguar is not pleased with your comment.

Errr, not wanting to get involved in a non R/C thing but maybe you should check you facts about Brit cars. Yes Aston Martin belong to Ford, but Rover did belong to BMW, they ballsed up and a British consortium bought it back for £10 !!!
Yanks need to buy British sports car companies 'cos they haven't got a clue how to build one!!! |
Maximum Racing
well said
and aston martins either fall apart dont start or blow up when ever its tuesday so the yanks killed another great car |
Maximum Racing
oh and the shelby cobra is actually an ac cobra it was british first and we still make them :p

I dont think the 4tec is legal.I think the engine is too big
isnt it? But if that isnt important the yokamo rtr is sure nice! |
Maximum Racing
HAHAHA you tea bags are always good for a laugh. We love your little sports cars. they taste great. I still think Ford owns rover.

Maximum Racing
Listen old chap, thats jolly well not cricket.
Now get in your vulgar yank tank and drive off into the sunset in a John Wayne style. Anyway chaps, time for tea and cucumber sandwiches? I think the cricket's on in 10 minutes!!! |
Maximum Racing
and for does own roover i think you need to check ford.com and get your facts straight

Flyboy, your knowledge of English car makes is not as good as you think.
Land Rover who make Range Rover, Discovery, Freelander and Defender is a COMPLETELY different company to MG Rover who make the majority of the Rover cars in England. The two companies split years ago. MG Rover is the originial Morris Garages Brand famous for the Morris Minor, MGB and a whole host of other classic English Marques, oh yeah, and not forgetting the Mini which unfortunately was the only piece of Rover that BMW kept. |

but yet FORD STILL OWNS LAND ROVER. this is getting really old get back to me when an english car wins a race somewhere

To get bacl to the topic:
The NTC3 is great I have 1. Get the 2 spd upgrade. It makes all the difference in the world. As for the 4Tec being legal - most places will allow it as long as it is the stock engine. If you replace it with something other than stock, then they make you go to the .12 - which a lot of .12's are more powerful than a lot of .15's anyway. That is one thing I do not understand is how the .12's can be that much more powerful sometimes. Look at the spec on the manufactures website - a lot of .12's rock. I am looking at getting a non-pull start .12 for my NTC3 but have not decided on which one yet. I do not know. |
