What kind of batteries do you use to power your transmitter and receiver on your rc cars? I would like to get a rechargable pack for both the tx (transmitter) and rx (receiver), but I don't know which ones will fit, what charger to use on them, and how long the battery life is. Can someone please help me out.

how long do duracell's least for? Also, do most TXs and RXs have some sort of indicator to tell how the batteries are doing? I wouldn't want to lose the battery going about 30 mph!!

Also, where can I get a throttle return spring for the Type SS? That way, if I lose the RX or TX at least it will stop.

well i use my controller 3-4 a week 1 hour a go... and have had the batteries in there for 3-4 weeks and still the gauge says 8 out of 10... which is good..

Well, my 3 sons and I have been running RC vehicles for roughly 10 years now, and we also got tired of shelling out .50 ea for Duracell AA (Transmitters) Since we converted everything to rechargeable NiMH AA (1850Mah), we haven't bought batteries in 2 or 3 years now. They come in a 4-pack, and Target had them on sale last week for $9.85. Yeah, it will cost you $20 for the 8 your Tx needs, but figure how many sets of Duracells you'll go through in 3 years! And if your charger can handle NiMH and NiCad, you can easily make an adapter for about $3.00 worth of parts from Radio Shack. We also have a few transmitters with charging jocks built in, so that's even easier with an adapter plug; you don't even have to take the batteries out!

Now, as for the receivers on our nitros, we swear by the 5-cell, hump pack from like Trinity or some off-brand. they fun about $16, but last forever, and you can always zap the pack the night before running and last all day with no problem.

Just a few thoughts, but it seems uneconomical to keep throwing those AA's in the trash when you could just bite the bullet and get all recharge-ables....

Ibought these 3 mths ago tested and trued I use them in my 4 remotes and recharge them perfectly with my MRCsuperbrain 959
These batts are well worth it. mine has the green sanyo wrapper on them, these look rewrapped nice.
I cycled 8 of them 20 times and it still produced 1860 Mah.

Which charger do you use? My controller takes 12 AA and I was looking for one that did all 12 at once, with no luck.
Could I buy 12 tab ones and solder them and make a pack, then plug them in to charge?

The charger that I want to buy is the great planes Triton which will do 1 to 24 cell charging+ 6/12/24v lead-acid and 1-4 cell LI-onand Li-po packs discharge and charge. Just incase you decide to try small parkflyers. $129 @ most LHS and you don't need to soder the cells just get the adapter that fits your TX pos and neg terminals correctly and attach them to the posts on the charger

Cool thanks. I am in the process of building a foam wing (Zagi...just much larger) and I'm gonna need a 7cell pack eventually. I'd prefer to buy one charger that'll do it all...
