Replacement tires for old car
It seems I'm having a little too much fun with my old car. I just put a different motor in it that I had laying around, and has a bit more torque. So I'm burning the knobs off the buggy's tires pretty quick. The stock tires say they are 340/30/20. I measured the wheel, and it is approximately 2 1/8 x 1 3/8. I went looking at Tower Hobbies, but they don't give exact specs. AMain shows the 1/18 scale buggy tires as 2.2" tires, but they are all too wide. The tires they have all seem to be around 2" wide, but my wheels are only 1 3/8. Any idea how I find the right size tires? I don't think I want original equipment, because I have this thing on the pavement a lot, and want something that's a little less knobbie and more "tread", but not totally street. I like the looks of the tread pattern on the Pro Line Dirt Hawg I or Moab. Do I need to get new wheels?

RE: Replacement tires for old car
Thanks. Good find. It looks like it's just a matter of searching for the right set, one by one. ugh. That looks like it just might fit, although I don't think they would be good for use on pavement and concrete. I'm starting to wonder if I should just get new wheels and put a different gear on the motor to compensate for the larger tires/wheels, just so that I have more options.
