Considering...
getting out of the hobby and selling all of my equipment or maybe even donating it...
the reason is that I simply just don't have time to do it anymore and when I do get to play with them its just not as fun as it used to be... I have taken a break from this before and felt the same way and until recently I have tried to come back to doing it but it only lasted about a month and once again I have not touched a controller in about 4 weeks or more I just does not thrill me as much anymore and with it being winter now means that I cant drive my vehicles anyways and they are currently sitting in my basement looking like huge wastes of money... its sad but true :( as is right now I don't have a job or anything and I do have to pay for my 1:1 vehicles needs so I don't think I can actually "afford" to keep them I just don't know what to do and with the money I could make by selling them I could do so much more I dunno I will think about it for another week or so and see what I will do with them |
RE: Considering...
if you do deside to get rid of them by sell or donate please let me know cause i am wanting to start a club were i live cause there aint that many
|
RE: Considering...
I really don't think you should have stated you were thinking of donating them... you're going to get non stop messages now.
Sell them, get some of your money back and spend it on more useful items. I know exactly how you feel cause I've got thousands wrapped up in my RCs and sometimes I wonder what the hell i'm doing. I mean I can only drive or fly one thing at a time right?? |
RE: Considering...
Keep at least one, and keep your tools.
RC is a chronic disease, you'll be back. |
RE: Considering...
1:1 cars are way more fun anyway. Get something fast to drive and you "may" forget about your R/C's (cars at least)

RE: Considering...
1:1 cars are a ton of fun, but they cost WAY more than RC. I love customizing, building, and working on mine and others 1:1 cars, but I can buy an entire RC car for the cost of one mod on my real cars generally. Sometimes I could buy several RC cars for the cost of one real car mod!!:D It takes a long time to wrap up $20-30,000 in RC cars and parts. I can do that with a real car in a matter of days if I have the money to do it. Plus that real car is CONSTANTLY losing value that it will never regain, generally(don't come at me with the few models of real cars that have appreciated, I know), and you just have to eat that massive amount of lost cash. RC's depreciate, but nothing like real cars, and the depreciation is a far smaller amount of cash. If you're leaving the RC hobby to tinker on real cars, more power to you, I've recently kind of done the opposite though. Money has been more tight over the past year or so and I can afford to buy RC's and do all kinds of crap with them. However, I can only afford to do a few things to my 1:1 cars. Also, if you can't do the work on a real car yourself, IMO, it's not even really worth getting into, because labor costs a fortune and the real fun in 1:1 cars (like RC cars) is building them and the fabrication side of it. Anyhow, good luck with your future endeavors.:D

RE: Considering...
I have been doing this hobby for like 7 or 8 years now and I am really sad to let it go but maybe when the economy picks up again and I can find a job I will be back but for now I really need the money for other things...
but I'm still not shure what to do with... and yeah I will be keeping the tools |
RE: Considering...
I feel the same way, i just dont enjoy my RC cars as much as i used to, theres only so much you can learn from them. I stopped with nitro trucks 6 months ago (but still kept them) and then got a Baja 5B which has kept me interested in the hobby until now where im starting to get bored again. I just go out to the field and after 10 minutes of driving i get bored and look at my watch and decide to return home.
But i still have all my RC cars as my freinds love them but cant be arsed to maintain them if i do give them away to them and i like teaching people about them sometimes. |
RE: Considering...
