Hey, I'm running a GS Storm and i'm looking to get a new receiver and maybe a new tranmitter..

I'm running 2 Hitec 645mg.. and wondered what receiver you would reckonmend..

I have a Acoms 27mhz transmitter and would really like to keep it..

the reason for changing my receiver is that it keep making my Failsafe cut in everytime i jump my car... so it seems to be loosing signals somehow!!!

You may have a glitch somewhere in the car, when you jump its causing it to react.
Could be metal to metal contact that is does not move until the car takes a shock, such as a jump.
I would not rule out a problem with the rcvr but I would see if you can get the glitch to happen with the car stationary.

You may then be able to solve the problem.
I am unsure what rcvrs would work with your radio as I have not heard of that one before, Your best bet would be to check with the manufacturer as to what is compatible.

it does n't happen when on flat ground and it's fine when you take the failsafe off??

It could just be your failsafe malfunctioning.

if it was the failsafe was broken it would fail at any time... not just when you jump it...

You are not getting it.

When your failsafe is off you may not be noticing the glitch when it happens. It may only be for a second when something touches.
When its on, Failsafes usually take time to start taking input again or in some cases have to be reset, thus you are seeing the result with the failsafe on.

What I meant about testing it while flat on the ground:
Take the car and bump the rcvr with a tool (light tap) bump the car around and see if you can get it to do it. Look for movement of metal to metal contact and try to identify if thats the case.
Example:
Pipe may be sliding through the pipe support on the car, I have seen this cause glitches before. There are many things, like I said this is just an example.



NO! you have it wrong again, there could be something in the rcvr that gets bumped or even possibly something that is loose that is getting moved when you land. Other times there is not enough force or vibration to cause the issue.

Your best bet is to take it into the hobby shop and let them troubleshoot the problem for you.

i phoned up my local shop where i bought the switch and they argued that it was not the failafe as they have never had one go wrong..

i've only just fixed the failsafe to the car.. it was taped down.... could this be why it may have broken...
