how often does something break on your vehicle?

It seems like I am breaking stuff about half the times I go out and run my RC. It's like $5 here, $20 there...

Might as well get used to it. That's part of the hobby. Heck if I wasn't breaking stuff then I'm not running it hard enough....lol.....

I break stuff almost every time I take one out. Sometimes its my fault and sometimes a wear item gives out. It is a part of the hobby and probably more expensive then the kits themselves over time.

it depeneds one the car and how you run it. with the my ntc3 at the track it seems I spend more time in the pits fixing something then anything else. with my new V ONE took it out one day i hit it against the curb a few time and its with out a scrach( i was using a one way and if you touch the breaks its unpredictable what the car will do)

but no matter the car you will break things its just how oftenyou break something.

Since I am trying to get my daughter to be a better driver.. I break multiple parts every time I take it out currently.. when I race just myself I am normally fine.

RE: how often does something break on your vehicle?

I rarely break parts on any of my vehicles but I find myself always replacing parts for wear, etc. So once I get a car, in a few months I have enough spare parts to make another car. If a track is degisnated for 10th scale, and I drive my 10th trucks, I doubt I will break anythign, maybe one very small part. But once I went to this HUGE 1/8 track with my xxx-t and I broke 4 ball studs, all on diffrent ends, 4 turnbuckles, diff case, and a cuple other parts on one jump every lap. But when my 8ight is on that track is doesnt break.

only ever broke like 1 shock and a dogbone. my biggest break was after hitting the rear end on landings, the magnete in the engine was in a million pieces. (and have not run it since):D

What truck/car do you have. This might explain alot of your breakage.

I break very few parts and I beat the heck out of my stuff. A lot has to do with how you maintain your vehicle.

if parts arent breaking your not having enuff fun rc's are rebuildable for a reason :D

+1. I see alot of people who break alot, and their whole car is horrible-suspension binding, shocks with NO oil in them, diffs leaking, bearings are shot, and break alot of stupid parts and when they arent breaking, they wonder why their car isnt as fast.

I have been pretty good so far about not breaking. You couldnt break my old electric stampede!:D

I ran the rustler into a tree the other day and broke the front bulkhead but other than that, I havent broken much at all. [8D]

RE: how often does something break on your vehicle?

It depends on the car. E-maxx use to break about every 3 or 4 runs. E-savage has never broke. My Slash, Pede, rustys and Bandits almost never break except spur gears. Losi and Associated buggies break almost every time.

[&:] Read my prior post: "+1. I see alot of people who break alot, and their whole car is horrible-suspension binding, shocks with NO oil in them, diffs leaking, bearings are shot, and break alot of stupid parts and when they arent breaking, they wonder why their car isnt as fast."

Looks like those people didnt maintain them. At our track, 1/10 buggies really never break much unless there is some reckless beginenr driver.

I think breakage has ALOT to do with upkeep as Chris RC and others have said/how you LAND if your jumping. If you land a 20' jump on your a-arm, odds are you may snap your a-arm, bend your dogbone..... if you land the car FLAT odds are it will smack the ground and thats your only worry is scraping the chasis up a little. I have only managed to break 1 part on my truggy and thats because it went out of control into a bench [&:]. Other than that its held up fine. After I run the car I try and clean it off/check anything that may have signs of excessive wear.... All a part of the hobby :D

What would you say are the main pieces that break on a Monster truck?

What brand and type of monster truck? Every car has its weak spots. Just search the forums for the car you have and you will have a basic idea of what breaks.

Also keep in mind that some parts are made to be the weak link, that is , some parts are made to break so that you don't break something more expensive or do major damage to your r/c.

RE: how often does something break on your vehicle?

i have some cars i care alot about and others i just want to go full speed into a wall and try to break them. right know my duratrax evader has a broken front bumper and one of the shocks is zip-tied on but it still runs. when i get my summit i plan to disasemble every 4 runs or every 2 weeks and clean it all up. tomorrow i will drive my evader off a 20ft drop off in its current state and tell you what happends, maybe make a video. why? because parts are cheap and i have nothing better to do :D

I brake my buggy only when I do something stupid.

RE: how often does something break on your vehicle?

I have an MGT 3.0. I have only done the break in stage, so nothing has broke on it yet. And just like one person said, "It only breaks when I do something stupid". That's when my car breaks. I just need to learn how to drive better and know when I am out of control.
