An problems using Alum touring wheels?
 

I want to buy a set of aluminium wheels for my NTC3. Anyone have any problems with these. Also do the tyres stick to them easily? What glue do I use?

I dont think there is any problem using aluminum rims, the only down side is touring car rims tend to take a beating on the lip of the rim if anything...so spending the pretty penny on those aluminum rims can be of a concern with regards to lip taking a beating. You can simply use any kind of CA glue used to mount tires to rims.

yes, there is a problem if you plan on racing. looks dont wim and the wheels are built around looks. they weigh more and therefore slow down acceleration and top end speed. the extra money would be well spent on some other performance part. however, if you are just running this around at the local part the wheels don matter. but in racing every little bit counts.

Theres a big problem to race with aluminum wheels. I went to open-practice with aluminum wheels, and one of my wheels broke off (except locknut part) a clean circle cut out, after i just hit a side of the track. And to top that, my friend, who went to the open-practice with me had the same thing happen to him, the same way, just a different side of the wheel.
You should just leave aluminum wheels for show, and use some normal wheels for racing. Those aluminum wheels costed me $13, and i had to throw them away, while some cheap plastic wheels i use now for my racing tires cost only 5$. Just remember not to race with aluminum.

Where'd you get aluminum wheels for $13? even each ,that seems pretty cheap......your friend have the same cheap wheels? Maybe thats why they broke.That couldn't have been 6061....too cheap.And the past tense of cost,is still cost...not costed.

I have 'chrome' wheels i got for $10 each. They are actually just polished aluminum. They last long butas i said, weigh more.
