MT2 G3.0 Problems
I am very very new to nitro rc, but have very good mechanical skill and understanding of how everything works(mechanic... well "technician" haha). I have had my MT2 about a week. It has pretty much been broke since day 2. I had a runaway and it hit a cinder block at about 25 and broke the left front a-arm... among other things. I fixed the a-arm, and while ordering parts I went ahead and ordered the HPI hump pack, a Futaba failsafe, and some stock plastic steering/suspension replacements. The day before it broke I went and spent $120 on 2gal of Byron 20% and a bunch of other here and there's, but back to the truck...
I bought it to run at work. I work in the oilfield on locations as a flowback hand. The rocks are an average size of say a golf ball. The tank is cracked on the right side leaking fuel, the clutch spring broke(I hooked it back through a loop... seems to be working great considering I cant drive the truck), the LF axle bearing is shot and the plastic hubs are in trouble. I dont know if the upright on the lf is good. Looking at it makes me want to say its good, but I dont want to be stuck like I am now. I want to upgrade a few parts, but dont know exactly what to order. Looking at neweramodels/HPI/ebay at some of their aluminum parts I have kinda come up with what I WILL get.... Aluminum Uprights HPI Aluminum Wide Hubs New HPI Bearings Aluminum Threaded Shocks F/R Steel Spur Gear I really need some recommendations on what else would be a good idea to upgrade. I HAVE to get the weak links out of this truck if it is going to hang with me and these oilfield locations. I have taken this thing all the way apart and put it back together. The only problems now are the cracked tank and the larger axle bearing... I guess it pretty much exploded on impact. Does anyone make a tank guard for the truck? Thanks guys Wade |
