RC Hobby Work Space

What kind of space do you have for your hobby?

My wife made me a small shop area in my garage. I have a full blown Wood Shop in my back yard but I don't want sawdust in my cars.

Any issues with your wood working near the trucks? Cause I have a nice 19X24 wood shop with some nice work benches. Nice thing is it is heated and air conditioned.

do the woodworking thing too along with airplanes and it drives me nuts to have all that dust settling everywhere. I need to get a good dust collection system started. i have two cars a mini-baja and a slash and both collect dust while i am woodworking. my planes in the off season get the same way however the dust sticks to the caster oil from my nitro planes.

ps check out this site if you like woodworking> http://lumberjocks.com/

lot of neat ideas and woodworking tips there as well.

I just started in the hobby so my setup isn't half as elaborate as y'all. I have an old kitchen table setup in a backroom of my house with just a few necessary tools for me and my wifes rc18s. I hope once I start to get a better tool collection and waterproof my shed better; to set up a nice little RC work shop in there.

Hey, is that a can of nitro force next to the SC10? I use that stuff too. Anyway, that's a cool workshop, I hope to soon set up a workspace as well. I can't put it in my garage so I might use our extra bedroom. I'll post pics of the result.

Right now, my office/den/hobby room is a complete mess as I've moved everything I used to be storing in the basement in there until I finish renovating. Then it will all move down stairs to a custom 20' x 12' hobby room.

Quoted from OP's sig:

Pencils are worthless. Unless, of course, If you''re trying to light a fire...Then they''re worth something...

The Russians used pencils in outer space as an alternative to developing a pen that would function in outer space. The USA dumped hundreds of millions of dollars into developing a pen that would work in outer space. Not that this has anything to do with the topic. It's just your sig caught my eye and I had to throw out a random fact that LOTS of our tax dollars were wasted instead of using a worthless pencil that we already had uncountable numbers of in every office cabinet.

By the way I was going to post a pic of my humble beginners work space until I saw the other spaces shown here. You guys put mine to shame. It's a 3' x 3' bench with a shelf at the bottom and my tool box from when I was an auto mechanic next to it. There is also a small parts tray with several drawers to keep parts organized. Small, humble, and works for me since I only have a small amount of stuff to work on.

Very off topic but very interesting bit of info. Oh come on post some pics. Did you not see the bed work area?

Yeah, come on and show us what you got. I find it is not the parts, the paints or enen the tools, it is the damn tires and batteries that take up all the room.

As a side note, I have finished the design of a rolling tool cabinet that breaks down to 2 pieces for storage and has a folding work bench top on it for the track. I will be working to build it over the next month as I find tiem. Whne it is done, I will post pics and drawings here.

Well all my rc stuff is in my truck 90% of the time i use it. Just drop down the tailgate and im good to go. I used to use the shed by the pool but it just wasnt workin out. I also have a table i set up outside the garage i work on too. The garage is my dads area, its FULL of car parts. So theres no room for me and all my rc crap.

Hahahahahaha...That's...not hilarious, not disturbing...That's disappointing, to say the least. I'm going to change my sig back to what it was now...

Wow. I think if I ever talked to my mom that way I would lose what space I do have for my RC's, not get more...
