EMXT-1

Hello all, Newbie with a question. I ordered a EMXT-1 and was wondering what upgrades are available for it ? And has anyone ever raced these at the track and how did you do compared to the more expensive trucks.

RE: EMXT-1

we have aluminum upgrades and a brushless system available for them, they use the same hop ups on the suspension as the eldorada

RE: EMXT-1

This truck can handle a brushless system? That is cool. Can you send me a link to the parts upgrades to this truck.

Thanks,Mike

I would keep it plastic mostly, aluminum is more for the bling factor in my opinion, if you break plastic its cheap, if you bend or break aluminum, your looking at a few $ to replace.

Thanks for the info. Well while I am asking questions I am wondering how this truck compares to the Duratrax EtX RTR? Is it about the same or better in your opinion.

Pretty cool to have the owner of a company answering my questions. Thanks again and sorry about all the questions just new to everything.

Its cool bro, I dont mind helping out when i can, I enjoy it, love the hobby.    You have me stumped on that question, I dont own one duratrax so i dont know to be honest.  I have every other brand but that, lol....

RE: EMXT-1

Well I have had this truck a little over a month and I would like some suggestions on a brushed motor to put in it. I have done nothing to it but clean so it is bone stock. I am not interested in a brushless system, yet anyways. Also I plan on servicing the diffs so does anyone have some suggestions as to what grease if any to use.

 Thanks,Mike</p>

RE: EMXT-1

without changing the esc, i wouldnt go lower than a 19turn.  Diffs you can use either teflon grease or they make diff grease.  Why not just fill with diff oil?  Just put a little sealer on the diff cover before you put it back together.

mc4798 09-09-2009 07:39 PM

RE: EMXT-1

Well I was thinking about that (diff oil) I used some 3000 wt diff oil in my evader and it worked great. I just wanted to see what you guys might recommend.

19t, What is the stock motor? I know from little experience that a ball bearing motor make a ton of diffrence.

ehroof 09-09-2009 07:42 PM

RE: EMXT-1

the stock is a 27 turn,  stock engines are 27 turn.  The lower the number the more drain on the system but more power.  Most decent engines are ball bearing not bushing.

RE: EMXT-1

Here is a inexpensive upgrade for keeping your axles/driveshaft seated nice and firm .

ehroof 09-10-2009 06:44 AM

RE: EMXT-1

those look cool, you can use a sliver of fuel tubing too.

mc4798 09-10-2009 07:17 AM

RE: EMXT-1

Hmm, I didnt know that. I had some of those springs laying around and popped them in and they worked great. Will do till I get some cv axles for it.

RE: EMXT-1

Well I couldnt resist. I had a venom fireball 17t and stuck it in while I was putting everything back together. It ran great and alot cooler but after about 10min I turned it off. Came back to it and now it wont run ? I put direct voltage to motor and it works. I can see the red lamp in the esc come on while using throttle. I dont here the hum of the esc now though. Steering works fine. I believe the esc took a dump. Any suggestions out there?

Funny thing is I just did a little (I like the esc) review on the esc and now it dies lol. Ironic I suppose

ehroof 09-10-2009 06:49 PM

RE: EMXT-1

Its only a stock esc, that engine was probably too hot for it.  You can try the reset button if it has one.

mc4798 09-10-2009 06:51 PM

RE: EMXT-1

User abuse I figured :D Just couldnt resist though.

ehroof 09-10-2009 06:52 PM

RE: EMXT-1

Yeah, to run a decently hot motor you want to upgrade your esc.  I wouldnt suggest it, i would just go for a brushless system.

RE: EMXT-1

if you dont want to go brushless get the traxxass 12t speed control out of the slash. those things work great with that motor you have. the himoto brushless system works awesomely though. just gear it a little higher on youre pinion and hold onto youre pants.

Does anyone know what pitch and tooth the stock spur gear is ?

It's a 64 tooth, 48 metric pitch

Thanks pede187
So going up in teeth would help on speed and heat ? Using a 17t motor .

Up on the pinion........more heat, more speed and less torque
Down on the pinion........less heat, les speed, more torque

Up on the spur.........Less heat, less speed, more torque
Down on the spur.....More heat, more speed, less torque

So do you know what t pinion it has ? I will just have to play around with it and see.

Thanks again.

It should be a 17 tooth. But make sure it's a metric 48p and not a standard 48p pinion

RE: EMXT-1

So I guess the ones I have for my evader ext would not work on it ? If so who sells diffrent size metric versions then.
