What to do with old nitro?

So I got some new fuel for my ride but i still have about 1/2 or so quart left over that's over a year old. Is there anything that this would be good to use for, like cleaning parts or something?

Cleaning parts or flushing engines and carbs.....yes. I'd use it for that. Keep some in a small squeeze bottle and use it to clean the dust or dirt off the top of the plug before changing plugs even...

Unless you left it open so that it became contaminated, why not run your engines with it? It's not like a forgotten peach in the back of the fridge crisper drawer,....gone all green and "no gud fur nuttin".

Anyways:

BBQ starter fluid
Campfire lighting fluid
Cleaner for RCs
Add a bit extra castor oil and use it for break-in fuel
Hand Cleaner for greasy jobs

and my personal favourite: Potato Cannon Fuel

....not that I recommend even building one......and things could go horribley wrong with RC fuel.....but if you can't be denied.......

Best thing.....poor it down the toilet or kitchen sink......I doubt the environment will fall apart.....besides, maybe polution is a lie.....seems like global warming may be a fib

Allowing it to flow down the drain of the sink or flushing it down the toilet is illegal in many areas, and finding a place to dispose of chemicals free of charge is not difficult.

In fact...

Might be worth a look.

I've had fuel that sat in my basement for years, worked just fine. As long as it was capped tightly just use it.

I use it for aftershave. I like it when the ladies say,
"Wow! is that 30% your wearing?".

It makes interesting fireballs when you can disperse it well; not as large or bright as gasoline, but pretty awesome none the less. This one made a fireball ~15ft high and ~10ft wide.

ive had a quart of trinity monsterhorsepower 20% in a dresser type drawer for like almost 2 yrs and it still worked great. as long as u sqeeze out the extra air in the container and cap it tight and keep it out of sunlight and the temp stays consisentent it will last awhile-and u can use old fuel to clean a nitro engine or degum one-i saw an articile in a mag about what to do w/ old fuel

Look at the fuel. Is it still clear? The only real contaminant that you should be worrying about is moisture. Methanol is highly hydroscopic, meaning it likes to suck up moisture. When it does, it starts to turn white. If the fuel is still clear, you can use it with no ill effects. You might see some whitish flakes at the bottom of the bottle, if the fuel is really, really old. Shake it up, and it should go away, that is the castor oil congealing a little. If it's synthetic, you shouldn't see that.
Good luck, and remember, nitro fuel doesn't go bad like gasoline does.

Run it!!

The stuff is expensive. Blend it in at 25% with some newer fuel.

If you're going to just waste it, at least do something cool like get some G.I. Joe's and set them on fire and watch them melt. Or just dump it in the backyard if you don't feel like getting silly.

So I have 2 gallons of Byron's sitting in my computer room waiting on me to get another Nitro truck. Both are still sealed from factory. Should be ok for a while?
