Converting t-maxx to electric newb question
Ok I know i'm going to get some laughs on this one. I have 4 t-maxx trucks I want to put a brushless motor on them and remove the nitro stuff. Why cant I simply take off the nitro stuff and simply replace it with a brushless motor (KD36-50-12S) and ESC(HK 100A) and use the same tranny so I can keep it 4x4? Why wouldnt the tranny that came with the T-maxx work?

RE: Converting t-maxx to electric newb question
go look at a pic of a emaxx and a tmaxx and you will understand it will cost alot to do a conversion and time your better off selling it and buying a emaxx

RE: Converting t-maxx to electric newb question
Electric is a lot more powerful and hence puts a lot more strain on the tranny. You can't take a tranny that was built for nitro and expect it to run a high-power brushless setup for long.

RE: Converting t-maxx to electric newb question
You can buy an E-Maxx tranny and put that in it for probably $30 or so if you are wanting to go brushless. It would cost less to buy the transmission than it would to buy the motor mount for the nitro transmission. Plus, you could sell your nitro transmission then. However, if your t-maxx is the old .15 or the 2.5, you will have to do some upgrading to make it hold up decent.

RE: Converting t-maxx to electric newb question
I think I will sell 3 of the T-maxx and buy a e-maxx then convert the other T-maxx. Thats will give me 2 E-maxx. Now I just need to find a E-maxx roller with the tranny in it from what I understand I need the tranny to be a 3906 not the newer o5. Is that right?
