Can anyone identify this plug?
1 Attachment(s)
I'm getting an electric drift car pretty soon and on the website they sell extra batteries that are better than the stock ones. I want to get one, but they seem over priced on their website. I'm looking to get one that's cheaper, but I can't seem to find one with the right connector on it. Does anyone know the name of this connector/plug? (in the attached pic). If you know of any batteries that come with the plug, or somewhere that I can by this connector seperately to replace whatever is on the battery, that would be great

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
Great plug, Those are all I use. So much better than the Deans I threw away. Got them from a guy on EBay.

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
I looked around at EC3 plugs and all the one's i've seen are blue and they look shorter than this one. Will those still work with the female end of the car this particular one is meant for (Exceed Drift Star).
p.s.: I know these aren't great cars and all. I'm just looking for something to mess with every now and then. |
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
do those plugs solder, or crimp on ?
|
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
not a clue
|
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
They solder on. I just switched all of my plugs to those, after a dozen or so you will get good at soldering them.:D The small hole you see on the end of the connector is used for soldering, i just fill up the entire end of the plug with solder. and the wire of course. [8D][8D]

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
All you do is slide the red plastic part over the wires, solder the connectors to the wires, then slide the connector into the red plastic untill it's clicks in place and your done.

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
And I just bought a bunch of deans....
Do they connect & disconnect easier than the deans ? |
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
I think they are about the same, but I have rather large hands and couldn't get a hold of the deans therefore kept pulling the wires off the connector. Don't get me wrong, Deans are a great connector, just a bit on the small side for me. Plus it don't help that all mine were the imitation Deans from china.(those are junk, out of 20 pair maybe 10 pair were good)

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
Thoes were the ones I bought, they worked well for me, But ive only done 4 pairs so far.
Got mine at hobby town. |
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
they are thunder tiger or supertiger, i don't recall which but i checked at my LHS after i got them on several batteries i purchased from HobbyKing. I replaced them with the EC3 connectors which are blue.

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
After looking around, I'm pretty sure these aren't EC3. They look like it in that a male cylinder-thing goes inside of a female tube, but each plug has a male and a female next to eachother. I'm pretty sure that the EC3 have 2 male on one side and 2 female on the other
|
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
that's right, EC3 are blue and are both connectors on the plug aremale or female depending on if they are battery or device, the red connectors they are asking about are the Super Tigre connectors (just looked it up to confirm it).

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
that's the one. thanks!

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
i had those connectors on my turnigy lipos. i just chucked them in the trash because everything i own has deans
|
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
It's a new Mini EC3 by E-flite, I've seen them around.
|
RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
Sheograth, they are not mini EC3, check this site: http://www.supertigre.com/electric-power/adapters.html they are Supertigre connectors, i checked E-flite EC3 and they don't list anything about mini EC3 connectors, they have EC3 an EC5 for larger current applications.</p> |
