Beginner Needs Help

Hey Guys,
I am new to On-Road and Carpet Cars. I am on ebay right now hopefully purchasing a 1/12 Calandra to start off with. Ihave a radio system but what else will Ineed to get started in this on road category? Any and all links, literature, and advice is appreciated and welcomed. Thanks for the time.
