What is the difference between a monster truck and a stadium truck. I ordered a MT, should be here in a few days. It looks like pictures and videos of stadium trucks. Sorry for being ignorant, this is my first truck.

A stadium truck is 2wd and has low ground clearance while a monster truck is 4wd has high groung clearance. I have a rustler vxl witch is a stadium truck and I have an e-savage witch is a moster truck.

so are those trucks that look like the real racing trucks(RC8 i think) are stadium trucks?  I have already told my wife that is the next truck I want, even before my new truck is here!  They look almost identical to the real thing.

not all true
there are a handful of 4wd Stadium trucks, mostly HPI makes them but there are some. Reason they are still a ST, and not a truggy, is due to not having a center differential.
Thing is some "Monster Trucks" (Revo I'm looking at you) are basically stadium trucks, or truggies, with gigantic tires on them.
Most true blue monster trucks have fairly high centers of gravity and will flip super easy if you take a turn too fast.
VS a Stadium truck being able to take a turn usually going near full throttle without flipping.
Monster truck has ALOT of ground clearance, vs a stadium truck generally is lower to the ground like a buggy (ST's are a little higher off the ground than similar scaled buggies) and have more buggy like characteristics.

Then theres Truggys which are essentialy buggies with truck tires flung on em ;)

Does your stadium truck do well in the grass or over fairly rough terrain?  I don't mean some of the stuff I see on these videos where the guys are jumping off houses and running through creeks, just your average height grass.  In the yard driving!!

mine does a fairly decent job. But then again I got the suspension jacked to max and Masher 2k's flung on it (added about .75 inches to the ground clearance), and its 4wd. Actually 99% of its driving is in grass (around 1.5 inches long), or on my street that is so riddles with potholes I damaged my real cars suspension ;)

2wd's usually will struggle in grass though. My nephew has a RWD Stampede that does great on paved, sand, and dirt but gets drastically slower in grass.

I know there are "some" 4wd stadium trucks but it's pretty uncommon, thats why I said stadium truck are 2wd drive because 95% of the time they are. And I agree, revo's are pretty much truggies.

I gotta have one of those trucks that look like a real one.  Told the wife I will take out a loan if I have too.  I grew up watching Ivan" the Iron Man" Stewart racing those in stadiums.  I watched a video today, you would not know they were rc's unless you saw the people standing beside the track.  Is the RC8 a good truck?

That is a nice looking truck!!  HPI must be a good truck.  I see a lot of people in RCU talking about that name.  Once I "learn" with this truck I ordered I will be looking to get a nicer one.  I ordered an Acme off Ebay.  It supposed to be my daughter's truck!!  I think daddy is going to like it just as much. if not more.  I've seen people knocking the Acme trucks.  I'm not one that is going to be very hard on a truck, so I think it will be good for me(I mean my little girl?).

rooker there are usually reason people knock on acme (I'd never trust anything named acme after watching Wile E. Coyote getting nailed al those times by failures ;)) and other off brands

Generally there is no customer support(himoto and redcat are the only 2 cheaper end RC's that do support their products that I know of), no warranties on parts(if it comes broke you usually are screwed), the vehicles are made out of cheap materials (and therefore more prone to breakage), and almost 0 parts availability unless you order from the factory itself. They also usually don't design their own product but instead just distribute one from some cheap china knockoff factory.

Companies like HPI, Traxxas and the other bigger ones generally use higher quality Nylons in their plastics, have support departments that will answer any questions, have warranties, and do their own R&D work. I've heard of peoples ESC's exploding on Savage Flux's and HPI sent out a new one no questions asked, where with the majority of the cheap brands your screwed.

Please forgive me if Iam mistaken (beginner here as well), but wouldnt that be a short course truck as opposed to a regular stadium truck, a different beast again?

the blitz is definately a "short course" truck which is different from a stadium truck such as a T4 or a xxxT or a rustler or a mt2!!!
short course truck's can be 2wd or 4wd and are usually quite a bit wider than a stadium truck.
both can be very fun!!! but if your going to run in grass a monster truck is probably your best bet,even they can struggle a little
in grass!!

short course trucks have more scale proportions, particularly with the thinner wheels tucked inside the body. Stadium trucks tend to have the "monster" look with the big wheels mounted outside the body.

the Acme is a monster truck.  it came in today.  I can tell it is cheaply made.  there are a few upgrades you can buy to make it better( front end, etc).  the manual is not very good.  it is a typical "China made" manual.  Misspelled words,etc.  I do like the truck.  it started easy and looks cool.   After I play with it( I mean after my daughter plays with it) a while and I learn some things about nitro I really want a short course truck.  I'm going through the break in process now.
