slash 4x4- changing shock oil
How do you change oil in the shocks. If you can explain or provide a link it would be appreciated.

take the shock off. Unscrew the cap of the shock. Take the rubber seal out, put it on a paper towel. Dump the old oil out into a plastic bottle. Fill the shock back up with new oil. Put the rubber seal back on. put the cap back on. Put the shock back on the truck. Do that X4. You're done.

You don't even have to take the entire shock off the truck. I change mine with only the top part mounted to the shock tower off. After that, it's a breeze.

Move the shock up and down without having the piston get out of the oil (that will cause huge air bubbles) to get rid of all the air bubbles. If you can, let the shocks sit overnight but 10-20 minutes is fine, just so the air bubbles have time to rise up to the top.

Look in the manual.
It should have an exploded diagram so you can figure out what to take apart. |
