Center Diff HELP!!!
 

ok i have a ofna gt lx. i noticed today after running it for like 5 min that the car didn't have alot of torque and it just got smaller and smaller. then eventually running on a baseball diamond it would barly go. After closer inspection the front bevel gear in the center diff had ground itself down to the point where it will just barly hook up to make the diff go a little bit. Now i need a new diff gear before sunday and i am pretty sure the hobby shops around me don't carry any ofna specific parts. Is this a specialty item or is the gear another company carries like associated or kyosho or traxxas?? Also is it safe or possible to lock the center diff just so it is drivable until i fix things? thanks for any help

Anybody?? i rly need to know any info on this to have it running by sunday my last resort would be overnighting parts from friday to saturday which i rly dun wanna do thanks

I would say that it is safe to lock the diff so that you can play with your car. But be careful so that you lock it is a way that wont damage the casing. Practically the center diff get all the power transmitted t the wheels so I should be ok if you lock it. The car though will behave much much more differently.

I dont know if this is a specialty part but just take the diff along to your local hobby shop and check out what the have.If the teeth,pitch and size of another's made car matches give t a try. (To check the pitch see if the gears you have fit nicely to the one under fit-test (I assume that at least on the gears are in a descent condition))
If you find something that matches put is on and see. But be careful. Dont just hit the throttle once you have it running. Start slowly and after a minute or so stop the car and check if all is ok, not-hot etc.

By the way from where do you usually buy ofna parts?
