OFFER AND HIDE

whats up with these people who make offers on ads and when it comes time to do business they vanish from the face of the earth? i wouldn't think of doing this myself because first i wouldn't make a offer if i didn't want it, and second i like this hobby to much and i have met a lot of decent guys that i stay in touch with and gab about our deals and also gain knowledge about things i don't no to much about. i don't no maybe i'm overacting but it kinda makes me a little mad when people do this. if you aren't gonna follow thru on the deal why make the offer? anybody else feel this way or am i a 50 year old child?

RE: OFFER AND HIDE

i am guessing some of them are younger kids 13-15 who want it but when they tell there folks about sending money to someone they don't know half way a crossed the country they don't let them just one reason

RE: OFFER AND HIDE

i have a car up for sale now and at the button of the ad it says adult owned just to let other adults know i don't need permission to sell my stuff lol and responsible enough to mail it out the day i receive payment and will sent it where you will need to sign for it

and always keep it at a reasonable price. but i never find someone to buy it just a lot of lookers and low ballers i got a pm for 35 bucks i pay shipping. i might as well call the add buy motor, servo and esc and get free car lol

I just thought about having to ask for permission to sell my own stuff, and started laughing. I hadn't even thought about it that way as I'm over 30, but I can just see some 12 year old kid wanting to sell his Pede he got for Christmas, and his mom ripping into him for wanting to sell his present. Youd be suprised. Ihate it when Imake an offer (at or above the asking price)and the seller never responds to it. Usually have to cancel the offer because im tired of waiting.

I completely agree. I put a Rustler on Craigslist two days ago. I woke up to 5 emails and 4 voicemails all saying they were very interested. I responded to all of them and not a single person has called me back.

This is what I called the 3-Minute Temptation.

For the first 3 minutes that they look at your ad, they think it is a good deal and they want it badly. So they contact you with their offers. After 3 minutes, they start to calm down... and think.. it wasn't that great and then they disappear and not reply back anymore.

RE: OFFER AND HIDE

the 3 minute thing makes sense, i think they call it impulsive thinking. it just aggravates the hell out of me. but like it says above you just got to deal with it!

RE: OFFER AND HIDE

I've had this happen a few times on Craigslist and Ebay. I had one guy actually set a time to come see my stuff then called to say he was on his way and never showed up...

I guess it's all just part of the process.
