Default Spektrum DX3E Range Issue

I have a Spektrum DX3E with an SR300 reciever in my Associated Buggy that came with the remote. The problem it the car can't seem to go more than 50 yards without losing signal from the remote. Is there a way to improve or lengthen the antennae on the reciever?? Or would I have to buy something more like an SR3001 or SR3100 in order to get the range that I want?? Thanks guys!

I bought theSpektrum DX3E thinking it would give me a 300ft range, sadly I was wrong.
I think I should trade it in for the Tactic TTX240, I have heard that this gives a better range.

This is a common problem with the spektrum receivers. Borrow another receiver to test if you can, and if it works better, send the faulty one back. I too have had this problem with the SR3001 and had it replaced.
