Should we expect some photos of you operating the Maxx in HRS mode? Ironically, the instruction booklet looks the same as the one I have for the "Magnum".

Megatech v. Magnum? OCONUS v. US? Futaba warranty difference? Does the Megatech version come with the NiCd rechargeable battery? My original box actually has a Warning/Recycle sticker on the box flap, but the print in the top photo is too small to read. All I know is that now that I've seen the all black version, I prefer my two-tone version.

I have the 3PK FUTJ33 version which came with the R113iP reciever. Yours has the R203HF reciever. I cant seem to find out the difference between them. Does anyone know???

***edit*** Ok I think I answered my own question. The R203HF is the HRS reciever to be used with digital servos only. Is this correct?

Yes, you can buy another reciever like mine (R113iP) and use it with your 3PK. The Tx has three modulation types, PPM (FM), PCM, HRS.

Not sure about the AA batteries though, nime came with the NICd battery pack.

Actually, there are 4 modes if you include and use the AM Conversion Module.

Armo,
Perhaps, you should contact the seller and find out whether or not the radio you ordered/purchased has a charger and battery.

"Charger: Device used to recharge batteries. Usually supplied with the radio if NiCd batteries are included"
Page 58 of my manual anyway.

"NiCd: NiCd, Nickel Cadmium battery. Rechargeable batteries that are typically used as power for radio transmitters and receivers. See Caring for you NiCd Batteries....49"
Page 63 of my manual.

To answer some questions asked here...

a. the megetech and magnum radios themselves have no difference.
b. the US (magnum) kit comes with a rechargable nicd battery and charger adapter (only good for nicd)
c. the non-US (megatech) comes with a dry cell battery tray (8 AA) and no charger.
d. the NEW Black kit comes with a new colour, updated OS and new steering wheel style
e. warranty is an issue but really for those in the US. I live in Canada so for me I have to ship the radio to another country no matter what so I might as well save the money.

I too just bought this radio and man ooh man what a radio, this thing simply rocks, as some one else said u can use any three types.....PCM, PPM,(FM) OR HRS, although with the high response one must use Digital servos, so u can put 10 models or if u buy the CAM pac u can add ten more, and each and every car can obviously be ran with any three of the previosly mentioned way, the only thing it will NOT upport is AM, but why would u do this anyway, i just read the Instruction booklet and it really is not that hard, plenty of bells and whistle with this, throttle control, steering controls, and Automaitc start, and on, and on, and on are some of the great features this thing has. Heck i am now looking to buy a few more cars just to add to the radio....I mean the features this thing has will for sure set the standard, you can set up each and every car with its own model name and with its own complete set up, then just click on what model u are running and bam the set up wich has been saved will all be right there!

well, mine came with crystals but i have the two tone one. not sure if that makes a difference. I would have to believe that yours will come with crystals too.

You are wrong! I own the T3PK and I use the AM Conversion Module. I'll also explain why--because not all R/Cs are FM. Examples include my Kyosho Mini-Zs, most of which I run with the Futaba T3PK.

I stand corrected TIGGER, you can change the MODULE and then change the band, you are correct, although AM is way more of a chance of a glitch which in turn means a crash, with expensive cars as i have i would not run that chance, not one bit, but u are correct.

ok these are the servos that i'm going to order

[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFVH3&P=7]Futaba S9152[/link] for steering
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBXA7&P=7]Futaba S9350[/link] for throttle and brake
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFKZ8&P=7]Futaba S3151[/link] for reverse shifting

the steering servo has 278 oz of torque, the stock had only 80 LOL [>:]

what you guys think?

You want the S9350 for steering
You want the S9451 for Break (using the s9350 for throttle is like using hammer to swat a fly. Even if it's also for break)
and for reverse you want the S3050 (the s3151 is for 4.5 volt only!!!

When choosing a steering servo, remember that there is a certain point that excessive torque won't help you. You're using a servo saver and you're just cranking that instead of putting more holding power into your steering.
Even though the S9152 has more torque it's slower, not in a metal case and not waterproof like the S9350.
I use a Hitec 645MG in my Savage which produces almost as much torque as the s9350 and I find that most of the force just gets eaten up by my Kimbrough servo saver.

also it does not say that the 9152 has metal gears and ball bearings, and yet it puts out 278 oz of torque, i think i'll use the 9350 for the steering.
and thnaks for letting meknow that 3151 is for 4.8 volt, i didn't notice that, so i'm pretty much screwed, the servos gonna cost me as much as the radio[>:]
