Default Range Length

I use a Sanwa Dash Sabre that controls my CEN ATX. The controller uses 8x Duracell Plus. Each battery is 1.5v, Alkaline MN1500. ( Single Use )

The reciever uses either 4x Protech battery's. Each one of those battery's are 1.2v, 800mAh. ( Rechargeable )

Im planning on taking the car on a beach cruise at the week end and Im wondering how far down the beach I can go. I dont use a Fail Safe so Im a bit concerned about range length without the car going crazy. If anyone could tell me how far this car reaches that would be great. If it helps, im using a Red 9 , 27.045MHz AM/TX crystal.
Thanks

Karl

Default RE: Range Length

Range varies from car to car, set-up to set-up, and place to place.
I recommend checking the range first with a friend. Or you CAN do it solo
Put your car on a stand, turn it on and start walking away.
A friend can tell you when it starts to wig-out, but if you're solo
you can listen, or look,(if it's not too far away).

Karl, switching to a 5-cell rechargeable pack to power the reciever and servos is also advisable. The extra cell will raise the voltage to 6v and will be capable of supplying more current to the servos, resulting in better response and more holding power. Buying a failsafe would be a good investment, as most models also apply full brake when the reciever battery drops below a threshold voltage.

sunsetrd, download the manual from the manufacturers website. Within it should explain why it is beeping and how to prevent it.
