Default JR XS3 radio batteries?

I just picked up a JR XS3 radio and I was wondering what type of batteries you guys run in these things. Links to the part and some place cheap would be appreciated a whole lot. BTW, would I need to do any mods to the radio to run these third party batts? And what would be a decent charger for these batts? Thanks for your help!!!

Default RE: JR XS3 radio batteries?

I use duracell 2300mah Nimh's that you can get at places like wal-mart.

To charge my Tx's and Rx's i use a [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLD5&P=ML]Duratrax Piranha Digital Peak Charger[/link]. Versatile and inexpensive. I'll be able to charge stick packs with it if i decide to go electric later.

Be careful to get the correct polarity on the charging jack. It's reversed compared to a futaba.
