I am Picking up my Savage 4.6 in the next day or so and have been told different infomation about controllers for this truck, i am fitting a reverse gear module and might add the three speed box as well, the people that i have spoke to say that if i go for a digital controller i with have to change the servo's in the savage ???? is this true, Can anyone suggest a controller that i can use what will allow the reverse gear and is in the price range of.....£100-£200. and will work the savage well.

I live in the UK and this will be my first truck.

I'm not sure what's available in the UK, but I recently bought a new radio, and it's going in my Savage 4.6 that i'm just about done building. During my research, I found these 3 channel FM radios to be 'worthy':

Hitec CRX and SRX
Airtronics MX-3
Futaba 3PM

I'm sure i would have been happy with any of them. I decided on synth, and the best synth option for me was the JR XS3. The other radios have a synth option, but getting a synth receiver with them is an extra cost, where with the JR you get it with the package.

You do NOT need to change servos when going to one of these radios, although you may see better performance if you do.

Final note. You do know the 4.6 SS kit doesn't come with servos right?
