Default New Radio!

Hey guys, i was looking around for a good radio on tower and i found this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXHXP9**&P=7 its a synth radio and only $159 is this really worth it or should i just go for the regular 3PM and save some money. i have heard some bad things about these synthesized radios such as the something on the reciever swithing due to the vibration on the engine and losing control of the car. is this common?

Thanks in advance

According to the link, Tower has discontinued carrying the radio.

Default RE: New Radio!

It's a very nice radio. BUT, it doesn't come with a synth receiver, just a crystal one, so you'll have to spend the extra bucks to get a synth receiver, which futaba doesn't make. About the only one i could find for this radio would be [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWL88&P=ML]this novak XXXtra[/link]

For some radios that are synth that DO come with a synth receiver:

Hitec SRX and CRX have a synth upgrade as well called spectra, and can also be used with the new 2.4Ghz spektrum.

Personally i have a JR XS3 and couldn't be happier with it.
