Default What Radio system to get?

I think its time for me to get a new radio system that I can use with all of my R/C's. So whats the best System for under $200? BTW I have the M11 and 3pk's listed because if they get enough votes ill save for one of those.

I would personally get the JR XS3. That is the stock system on an LST/2, and you can find em on Ebay through chop shops or from guys that upgraded to PCM radios for cheap. You can get an XS3 with a receivers for <$100 all day on Ebay, and find a spare receiver for each truck for an additional $30-40 (synthesized, RS300 or RS310).

FM, multi vehicle, synthesized, what more do you need? I love that radio set personally. Tons of adjustment, easy to use.

Ko EX-10 radio . I switched to one a while back and love it . All/more features you need , great model memory , feels good in my hand . I would go with a radio what feels comfortable to you , not what others tell you . Nothing worse than buying a new radio and end up not liking it .

I would say to get the Futaba 3PK super. The 3PK is a proven radio with tons of features that are very useful for racing or backyard bashing. Not only that, you can upgrade the 3PK to 2.4Ghz with a Spektrum tx module.

As far as another radio if the 3PK isnt within your scope, I would suggest the Nomandio Sensor. I would take this radio as my 1st choice if it were'nt for its steep price and the existing problems with its telemetry.

I'm a Nomadio convert, I have 6 of my 22 vehicles currently running on it. I switched from the 3PK and although I've always used Futaba, the Nomadio blows it away....

If you do not want the sensors , what`s the sense of buying a Nomadio then . Buy a Hitec and put Spektrum module in it . Unless your racing , I`d just get one of the radios on your list .

What's the use?
Having a fast computer updateable radio that blows all other radios away...
Then you can add sensors later

So?
I like it's features... it's a very nice radio... I had a chance to use one and it's very comfortable even with the tight tension on the wheel and trigger

HONESTLY, if you are willing to spend 200 dollars (which i was in the same boat) then i HIGHLY suggest on buying the nomadio brown box special. its wayyy better than spektrum and it has some awesome features, the 275 deal doesnt include the sensors, but later on down the road, you can always purchase them then. after using all different types of radios/receivers, this is the ONLY way to go, and its an awesome deal as of right now. i know its 75 dollars more than what you were willing to spend, but its well worth it, JMHO. i raced with the spektrum ordeal for 3 months now, i have to honestly turn the damn thing before i even hit a turn, it has a delay, NOT like the nomadio, its spot on every time.

at this place, it costs 275 dollars shipped to your pad, which is awesome considering most places charge 10 to 20 dollars for shipping and in certain states they charge tax and most places initially charge more. here is the link:

The tension on the Nomadio isn't bad, I actually like it... Let me add one thing.... I was partially disabled in a car accident and have loss of strenght and continual numbness in my hands from a neck injury. If I can use it with the increased tension over my 3PK, anyone can.... Hahaha.... For me, the radio has brought a little enjoyment back, it just feels right using it... Not that I don't love my 3PK....

from what i understand, the brown box special is the deal they were talking about. its basicly the radio/receiver minus the sensors, but maybe they are making another deal? i dont know, but i do know the brown box special is the way to go as of right now if you are not interested in buying the sensors and all.

like i said, its the best way to go, the spektrum DX3 costs around 249 dollars, i would any day of the week pay the extra 25 bucks to get the nomadio hands down!

The new radio is not a dumb radio at all. Just a new radio at a lower price with other features. BTW Futaba openly launched the 2.4 GHz radio program at the German 1:5 scale nationals they took 1, 2 and 4th place from all accounts it is now a FHDSS not a DSSS system as it had been. Gee I wonder how that was influenced. No telem

This is probably a dumb question but, what are the sensors and what do they do.
