RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
ORIGINAL: 46u
Thanks after posting I found and down loaded the manual, which has the dimensions on the receiver, which many be a problem, do to the size.
OK here is a super important question do to the fact my Spektrum messed up after about 10 months and I had to send it in for repairs which is going to take around 2 weeks to get back which will make me miss a VERY important points race. I can fix my radio but they will not send me the little spring I need to fix it. Spectrum DX3R was in the running but now I will not buy another Spectrum product ever again. Yes racers are a very strange bread when the miss a race much less one that can put them from 8th to 11th to 20th place.
If I get and have a problem with the React and have to send it in what is the normal in shop time on repairs? I am not a basher but a racer and time is of the assents. Coarse when I get my Spektrum back I will have back up.
Thanks.

I cannot attest to the turn around time on the radio's, but I had a bad temp sensor (possibly user error!) and sent it to them and they turned around and sent me a new one in one day. Karlton hooked me up with Scott at Nomadio and they took care of everything. It seems like everything you hear about the CS from Nomadio is right on..very good customer service..
Also, I was at a race/bash session this past weekend and there were at least 7 people checking out the Nomadio (most had Spektrum) - they could tell the difference in speed as well....the React with JR9000t and 9000S servos is pretty impressive! And the temp guage is nice to have...just a quick glance at the screen and you can check the engine temp...very nice to have! One more thing....the stock batter pack lasted about a "normal" race day before needing charged...not too bad

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
NOMADIO is based on service, we UNDERSTAND racers and your radio has to work race days. If you look on our forum you notice we ask if you have a problem on a weekend you let us know on Monday get it to us ASAP and we will make your race day the next week
We also support a full race team right now no company that produces 2.4GHz radios has more team racers and supports more races. Futaba is starting to come close. We support and sponsor RC PRO series NATC series and MANY local races all over the country.

Mine peaks around 6.04 volts with my SB 977 charger (at 1/2 amp). Rated MAH is 800, but I have seen about 980 or so (I did cycle them a couple of times before I saw these numbers)

OK I do not know a lot about batteries but my peak charger has a setting mV/C so what would I set that to? It ranges from 3mV/C to 20mV/C.

46u you should be able to charge @ 1amp the 3mV/C setting is the peak sensitivity the lower the value you set the closer the charger tries to match the peak setting. you should be ok using 3 or 5 mV/c

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
I got information from a very good source that Spektrum is taking auction on Nomadio hacking their receivers. That is not the words they used but you get the idea. If this is true how will this affect the compatibility of the React working with Spektrum receivers? After talking to the right people at Horizon Hobby looks like I will have my radio back long before the points race on the 12th. I sill will be up grading my radio in the next few months.
Thanks all for the input.

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
Radio waves and the format is open on ISM bands. There is nothing they can do. Fact is in the R/C industry many TXs talk to other receivers. If they really had an issue they would have done something long ago when Nomadio showed it to them in 2005. In fact Spektrum(tm) and Nomadio are both in the RCMA so if they had a real problem that is where the industry goes to work things out.

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
THIS IS NOT DIRECTED AT 46u. It never ceases to amaze me what some folks will come up with just to start a controversy. Most likely neither Nomadio or Spektrum started it.
I wonder how many small receivers have been sold by Spektrum because Nomadio has not got theirs on the market yet. I wonder how many Nomadio radios have been sold because of the popularity of the Spektrum systems. In many ways they tend to feed off each other and the end user is the one that gains the most..........

All I can say is this came from a top official with Horizon Hobby and like I said I do not know how true it is I guess we will have to wait and see. They said it has to with patent infringement. I personally was not trying to start anything just going by what I was told.

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
They are a gigantic company hundreds of millions in sales if they really had a case it would be done and over by now, two years they have known we can talk to their receivers.
No big deal they are now claiming their new radio is faster then the React this should be fun....

Karlton just want to say I enjoyed talking to you and I do think React is a very good radio. I might have other questions I will post here. I understand as I spend many hours answering emails, PM and replies for my sponsors. Some times I think I would be better off just paying retail.

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
Most know about my Spektrum radio messing up last weekend. I shipped it back Monday Priority Mail and FedEx just delivered it. They even put a new protective cover over the screen where it had some bad spots on it. The only think I paid was shipping there. Still will be getting a new radio in the next few months. I will be ready for round 4 of the Georgia Championship Series next weekend! BIG load off my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks all for the input!

RE: Nomadio React 2.4GHz Radio
I added an AA battery holder to my react. It's located here [link=http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2121]AA Battery Holder[/link] . It's a tight fit getting it in, but I now can remove and use rechargeable or off the shelf AAs if I need to. I refuse to pay $27 for 4 AA rechargable batteries with a special connector.
Seeing as how the connector is just a push-in wiring type, I pulled the wires out of the connector and pushed the ones from the batt holder. Works great!

If any of you are just buying a React, here's a coupon for a free temp sensor or $20 off a case... Just input the referral code when you register through RC Desktop...
