RE: NEW RELEASE: Spektrum DX3R - 3 Channel Racing System
I have never lost the BIND while racing or bashing, the 2 times it has happened to me, I shut everything off as usual. And the next morning I had to Re-Bind. There was no reason for it, kinda sucks.

RE: NEW RELEASE: Spektrum DX3R - 3 Channel Racing System
Finally, I got my DX3R too. It really is lightweight and only requires 4 AAA batteries The good thing too is that I can drive it left-handed since I'm a southpaw.
I just finished installing it to my Savage X SS. Will run it probably this weekend. I just wanted to clarify some concerns you might be familiar with it.
1. I'm using Hitec 5998TG (Digital) for steering and Futaba S9402 (Analog) for throttle and brake. I adjusted the frame rate to 5.5ms and the S9402 glitches. I need to go back to 11ms but there is a warning that for digital servos 5.5ms is required
2. Please check my antenna installation. Is this ok to shorten or should I fully extend the antenna? I shortened the antenna wire by twist ties.
Thanks
Carl

They say no Kinks, no tight wraps and NO cutting. No tight bend and cap on the tube either. This is per Spektrum. They have a couple of bulletons on their site.

Hello everyone...
I have DRXR and I don`t know what happent to this radio because the range is to short cca 300 (328 yards) meters going to safe mode...
What is official range for this radio frequency?
Have anyone this problem with range?
Thank you!

RE: NEW RELEASE: Spektrum DX3R - 3 Channel Racing System
Alright guys, got my DX3R yesterday, and went straight to the track.
First impressions.
Damn this radio is light and smooth.!!!! I love how I can adjust everything.!
I was a bit scared about that problem of loosing bind, but all looks well, that radio has been used for a bit more than 6 hours, and never once did it loose bind, or glitch.
Great radio
Can someone check if my RX antenna installation is correct, the manual says no tight bends and knicks.
All I did was make a loop and put a ting peice of 1mm fuel tubing to hold the tip so it dosent go back in.

RE: NEW RELEASE: Spektrum DX3R - 3 Channel Racing System
Spektrum’s SR3100 receiver (included with the DX3R) features a coaxial antenna. Do not cut the antenna. The exposed area at the tip of the coax is the functional part of the antenna and must remain at 31mm in length. Altering the 31mm length will detune the receiver reducing range.
Avoid sharp bends, pinching, smashing or cutting the coax (covered gray section) portion of the antenna. The coax is susceptible to damage and if severed, or if the insulation is damaged, reduced receiver performance can result. If you should damage the coaxial antenna replacement is necessary and easy. New coaxial antennas are available SPM9005 and snap onto the receiver board.

Corrected the installation, just removed the peice of fuel tubing.
So we cant even loop it.? The only reason I did it was so that it has something to hold on to, and not go back in.
There were no sharp bends, no knicks, no pinching and definately no cutting.
While driving yesterday, took it out as far as the eye can see, and had no range issues and no glitching.
Well thanks for the info anyway..

You bet ... I'm loving mine so far. Great radio. Here's a pic of how I did a lanyard loop, if your interested. It is a machine screw rifle sling stud with a small split ring for a neck strap or camera strap to clip to.
