antenna help
 

Hi, first im sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, im new and just getting back in the RC stuff (i was new to the RC world back then too).

Long story short i stopped using my RC car few years back and wanted to get back in but come to find out that where i stored it was not safe enough. My GFs cat found it and chewed through the antenna leaving only about and inch left.

my question is what do i need to buy and where can i find a tutorial online to show how to fix it.

what areial was it?

am,fm, 2.4ghz???

It says 27 Mhz AM Reciever

Edit: This is exactly what i have except the wire has been chewed through leaving about an inch:

Should i just buy this or is there a simple fix?

you can solder a new wire to the remaining antenna wire or pull the case apart and go direct to the board... I think they are roughly 18 inches long and you can get replacement wire at the hobby shop

Don't quote me on this, but you might lose some range, kinda hit-or-miss. Had the same problem on my Savage, just wanted to drive it so i tried to find a wire that was the same gauge and length and re-soldered it to the board. Got lucky, and have not noticed a loss in range what-so-ever. Just be sure to range check it before you drive it.
