Anyone got a futaba 3pm- fs

Hi everyone, I have just had a futaba 3pm- fs digital controller that I won on the dreaded eBay, the problem is I can't get it to work, it's all plugged in as it should be the crystals are the same and pushed all the way in. And now I have run out of ideas the car works fine using a different controller. The only thing I can see that might be causing it, is on the back of the controller where the crustal fits into there's no sleeves that the cristal slots into like on the receiver. It just rests on the pcb in the controller, dose this sound right ( if it makes sense) ! Or should it look the same as the reciver ( with the sleeves)? I'm still trying to get hold of the seller ro see if he's sold me a pup, any help/ advice would be great, mike

If you have another receiver, I would take the crystal out of the receiver that came with the radio and try it in another receiver. Also you might want to try another set of crystals all together. I seriously doubt the radio is bad. Also I would make sure you have a fresh set of batteries in the transmitter as well.
