Nitro run times are 8-15 min.

Brushless is 15-20, can go as high as 30+ depending on the battery.

Gas 1/5th scale 45+

i think timing and everything depends on your setup and how fast you can refuel/chage your battery. both are equally fast, but as stated, it depends on your setup. you would think nitro would be quicker at a pit stop... ya just flip the top and squeeze the bottle. electric you gotta remove the body, undo slips, unplug, and reverse the process. idk its a close one. but commenting on the video, thats a quick buggy

That was a great video! Driver skill was fun to watch. He keeps that thing straight regardless of the mid air angle.

I think I can complete a half hour race without stopping on a 6000mAh 4s pack, might be close, I'll have to try it

Maybe...but on 4S you would get absolutely stomped by that 28....Even on 5S you wouldn't have a chance at matching the performance of that 28, or at least not on a sustainable gearing...........I am sure you could gear up and do several hero laps, but your ESC/motor would go thermal trying to sustain that pace........On a sustainable gearing and setup capable of running a solid 20 minutes on the track the BL will end up being slower then the nitros....... I have seen a 5S truggy run 24 minutes on a pack without issue, but the gearing and setup made it slower then the Nitro's down the straight.........As well due to the extra weight of the BL the truggies handling and durability were greatly compromised, that extra weight made the handling very poor and the front end much more prone to breakage.......On the track nitro still rules 1/8 !

I am the nitro warrior till the end ! nothing pleases me more then seeing the BL guys go thermal trying to keep up to my modified Nitros on the track..... pretty much every single 1/8 BL setup running at my track have gone thermal at one point or another....Tho I have not seen flames since last season....

Supertib, I know what you mean, I love blowing BL's away, even with my old KYOSHO GX.21 which I have tuned and tinkered with myself, Damn thing runs like crazy now, almost to difficult to control but it gets the job done.
I'm like you, NITRO ROCKS.
Later dude, keep it up.[8D]

I've only seen one thermal meltdown, not pretty at all since there is little that can be done about it other than let it simmer down on its own, especially if the battery bursts. Here we normally keep the classes seperate, unless there isnt enough to make a class for the BL guys, they get stuck in the nitro class, trying to squeeze every second they can out of thier rigs in a 20 min main. I wouldnt be caught dead with a BL buggy or truggy, nitro for life!!!
