Flying RC18T video
Some highlights I took from one of our Saturday night get-togethers. There's a lot of ramp footage but the end has footage of my RC18T strapped to a helicopter. Enjoy.

ORIGINAL: trx1 best part was the back flip that he paused then finished, that was awsome!! hehe, thanks - that's actually my savage. The funny thing is that the pause wasn't *totally* intentional. I lost it in the glare from the light for a second. :) |
RE: Flying RC18T video
that last part left me speechless. How did you attatch it to the heli?
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
That was my favorite part. I was surprised it took off.
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
I cant believe you was doing landings on the cement. Nice crowd you had out there. Any chance of having some of the original audio next time?
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
man that was awesome how you had the heli lifting the rc18t. i couldnt believe you could control it without flipping over.
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
boy that brings some ideas to mind.
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
Hey!!!! That's the reason I bought a helicopter! Nice job beating me to it...
What heli was that a TREX? |
RE: Flying RC18T video
Awesome vid and you guys got big cajones jumping and landing on asphalt:D
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
We attached the heli using zip-ties. It was between that and servo tape.
The next video will have original audio for sure. I put this together kind of quickly so I didn't have a chance to mess with it. Jumping on asphalt is definitely rough on the trucks. I got off lucky that night though, I only broke two shocks. I usually don't get off that light! |
RE: Flying RC18T video
ooh i guessed right i knew it was zip ties! but yeah that's cool how they worked as a team on that helicarpter part.
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
great vid! very original idea. i wonder how high that heli can go carrying the 18t
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
gryphix, what heli was it? Was it electric or nitro.
Also, what heli have you got DebianDog? |

ORIGINAL: Cummins gryphix, what heli was it? Was it electric or nitro. Also, what heli have you got DebianDog? It's electric powered and I *think* it's a Shogun 400. |

ORIGINAL: DebianDog I have a Raptor 60 V2 http://danslagle.com/interests/Raptor60V2/page_3.html Still learning to fly [&o] Hopefully by the end of summer I will be good enough to start screwing around :D That's pretty sweet - I really want one myself. Is it pretty difficult to learn? Have you tried a simulator at all? |
RE: Flying RC18T video
any confirmation on the make?...I'm think its the 400 too..but curious whats powering it...thats a pretty good weight to lift. heck i'm going to try it tonight.

ORIGINAL: gryphix That's pretty sweet - I really want one myself. Is it pretty difficult to learn? Have you tried a simulator at all? A Raptor 60 is a big chopper, this makes it easy to learn and fly on as it has a greater mass, thus is less affected by prop wash and wind. However, when you crash, it is alot less kind on the wallet! :D Reflex XTR is the only good heli sim out there (my opinion). |

RE: Flying RC18T video
Yup, it's FF HLGs (Free Flight Hand Launched Gliders) all the way for me! :D Then, all I have to pay for is the cost of the balsa and knife blades... about £3.50 per plane.

I am going to act like the beginner I am this time too. If I did not want to carry things I would have gotten a .30 sized heli as they are about 1/2 as expensive to fix. |
RE: Flying RC18T video
The heli liften up that car was sweet, priceless.
|
RE: Flying RC18T video
The heli is a shogun.....MY shogun lol...3 cell 2100 lipo with evo flight brushless motor and castle 25 speed control
