Default Losi NXT and Associated B2

Just found these 2 in my parents shed. They have been sitting in storage for 10+ yrs. I was inspired to hunt them down when i drove by a hobbytown. First days search yielded nothing. Returned next day and found the blue tote they were in! I'll be sure to update this thread with some pictures of both. I got them both back in mid to late 90's when i was 17-18, im now 38.

I took them into said hobbytown and the knowledgeable employee helped me go over both r/c's. To his and my amazement the B2 needed only a new radio an receiver and battey! He tried new set of crystals in my transmitter an receiver and it didnt do anything. He pulled out his personal traxxas radio an rec, added battery and it was off and running! Recommended new bearings for all wheels. Oiling an cleaning of gears.

NXT, not so lucky. Missing 2 servos, radio an rec also junk, motor is seized. He is gonna try to un-seize(if thats a word) by soaking motor in nitro fuel over night. But its looking like gonna be couple hundred bucks to get running if i need to purchase new motor. I asked for most economical he showed me traxxas 2.5r. Also couple waterproof servos. Is it worth spending the money to get nxt running or just use it as display in house?

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Is it worth it? Good question. For me it's simple, I'd have to have assurance of parts availability. I know I would open up the engine until it's screaming, and then POW! I brok both front arms, only to find out a dude on eBay wants $30 for the last set of front arms in existence .
