I wanted to find all the missing parts and shells to be able to restore them to running models....
Any help would be appreciated, even pointing me to a source to try and identify the manufacturer...?
Thanks again.... Russ

Default Perplexed

I gotta say, I've never seen anything like the two aluminum chassis platforms that you have pictures of. Post up some front/side/rear shots please. I'd like to see side profile of the shock, wheels, and tranny.

Do the 3x2 pin spike tires say "OFF-ROADER" on the sidewalls?

I don't suppose anyone has any information on AKM = A King Motors Ltd...... I think they sold RC parts to Maplin electronics in the UK......
By the look of it there is no information on the net about this company at all apart from a mention in a post somewhere of how good the motors were and the one picture of the chassis I have taken from the side of a motor box....

I wonder if they were taken over or merged with another manufacturer??

The gold and blue chassied cars look like mrp buggies to me. Shogun or shotgun for the 4wd
Very rarely seen

A friend of mine when we were kids had a monogram tornado, the yellow one. It was a very neat and intricate 4wd buggy, kinda hotshot like in its own way. The push pull rod suspension, longitudinally mounted motor, 4wd, scale looks and everything you needed to get going in hobby grade rc...It had alot going for it. I think bandai japan actually made or designed the car. It was pretty fast and on rough stuff it would run circles around my hornet, which i thought was the baddest thing on the planet...haha lol on that! The only thing negative i could remember though was the tornado plastic was fragile. it could not take a whack or even a small collision. Kinda like the Marui plastic at the time, rather brittle. Tamiya definitely had the formulation for their plastics down...Now we have Traxxas level plastics, that stuff can really take a pounding...Nice acquisitions there..
