That is pretty close, but I checked the JRX2 and unfortunately, that is not it

Nope, I never would have guessed that one. I was thinking something along the line of Kyosho, or something AYK-ish.

Well, I'm not familiar with RCs, but on many forums users that were shown pictures of the Monster agreed that it looked like a Hornet/AYK mashup/ripoff. So not that far off.

looks like an older Kyosho model

I would agree, has the hallmarks of a Kyosho from the 80's
