I was wondering if there are any vintage RC car events/gatherings/races/shows or whatever one wants to call it, preferably mid-atlantic area or Vegas? It would be nice to run some of the classics and re-issues with like minded people.

In California you can find this for sure. You should look for places where silverspoon youths live and who buy those classic cars. For instance, California coastline, Florida and NYC perhaps. Although personally I would love to have trucks races. Although I think the PD would be really much interested in this sort of race unfortunately. So for this matter I just read about other people's races. There is even sea-plan races I read about here.
