RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Mounting my shocks today and was wondering if there should be some space in the bracket so the shock can slide back and forth on the screw or should I bypass the flange tube and clamp the bracket down on the shock so theres no movement?
Plz help.

If you wish, you can put an orange o-ring as a spacer to take out the play....
I wouldn't worry about.. I would think binding is a lot worse... (if you don't run the tube..)

That Blackfoot although not original looking still looks pretty sweet! I like the gold rims with the thin tires. How does that thing run?

haha, yea its time for a little freshening up.but honestly this thing has never been parked long.i think the longest it ever sat was like 2 weeks.it goes with me everywhere,i keep it in the back of my jeep, lol.ive taken it all over the country, even daytona beach in the 90s,up to maine almost canada, every vacation trip whatever.just came back from tenessee and yup it was there.its beyond restoring so i just basically keep it going.if i restored it there wouldnt be anything original left ha.so i just epoxy the cracks and relace what breaks.actually i just junked the original speed controller, miracuously it stayed alive all theese years!!
circa 1994ish(think the yellow cva's made it onto a pumpkin
i might get a lexan body, only for the weight savings but i sure have plenty to play with.and i havent even dug out my stash yet!
ahh yes, arent blackfoots fun!!!bet ya wished you kept yours!!this one has been driven once yup once.still has an original mrc battery pack in it.i need a few parts to make it original (rims and tires)and im building a couple blackfoot beaters.yayyy
but above all when i want fun or to put a smile on my face i always go back to my original lb,with its 15 layers of paint and all.

Jeepnhal,
Glad to see you getting a old school Lunchbox going. That black one looks like it has seen better days, it has had some miles put on it!!! I like the old Blackfoot in the photo also, I had several of them and just put them through hell. The parts you bought are really going to dress up your Lunchbox, love the rims and paddle tires. Are you going to get a new body, hard or lexan? Keep us informed.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
I dont really like the idea of gluing tires on, so i have glued pieces of foam around the outside lip of the rim.
This should work right?
Its so hard to tell if the tires are spinning inside the rim ya know?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
All the vids Ive seen are lunchbox on cement??
I avoid cement like the plague unless its for a launching pad to get speed for a jump!
Dante> I'm curious as to how your box is looking these days, still new and shiny or....
post some pics if u will...thx
I'll be posting some vids come spring...cant wait!!
Im tempted to check out the indoor track down the street from me for $12 cause Im so anxious, but Ive never been to a track so it might be a waste of money?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Buy new tires? The only replacement rims I've seen (chrome) only come in set of 4 & go for forty bucks
Tires go for $15
So if I break one rim with glued tires I'm out fifty five bucks???

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
If I break a rim I can pop the tire off and possibly repair the rim, or put a painted yellow one on.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
WOW your lucky!!!
I was wondering if the ww2 wheels (all four) will fit right on the lunchbox.
They might be more available?
I will try the foam glued to the wheel 1st and if that doesnt work, maybe try hot glue as it isnt permanent!

WW-2 front wheels are direct fit..
Rear wheels have 12mm hex, so you need hex adaptors... (Tamiya makes them... HPI got some too..)

Up late, eh?

Awesome lunchbox!
Clear coat really seems to hold up good huh?
I am going out in the cold to test my new shocks right now.
