I know, that's why that's just my wish...

LOL you know the Tamiya way. You'll pay the kit and pay another $50+ for the shock set.

I am sure it will be out in a few more months.. bet you can pre-order it from Tower a couple of months from now, ha!!
I want the kit to be full ballbearings and come w/ dual aluminum shocks!!

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
It will be better than the original for sure...
I hope they come out w/ a whole line of hop-ups for it.. although, I doubt it.. (unlike a brand new platform like DF-03..)

I think this kit will benefit from and updated drive shaft, gearing and probably updated shocks.
This build will definitely include a Brushless system. When our store can get some, I will pre order.

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
hmm.. on that vintage tamiya car analysis site, they said about like the front suspension bottomed out alot on the offroad tracks in those days, but also said that if the car was used on the bluegroove surfaces today it would work well... or something?

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
Yeah, I was just saying that it is not as good as the regular 4-shocks setup.. but it probably works okay...
(to see where the performance edge is, just need to look at Tamiya's TRF501 suspension design..)

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
LOL.. that's just my wild guess.. I don't see any reason why it should be more than a Dark Impact, so I padded another $30-40 on top of a DI price.. but who knows?!

Does anyone know how much it's gonna cost yet.
How much did the original cost back in the 80's or so?

RE: HOTSHOT RE-RELEASE BUILD!
Nice Vid.
As I remember, the suspesion worked fairly well - the front bumper and lower arms broke pretty easily. The biggest drawback was the ride hight - they were extremely low. I have a Hotshot and Frog still in the box from 1983 and '85 that I never built. I saw the prices of the Frog as high as $750 until the re-release then the bottom fell out. Guess the same will happen to the Hotshot.
I'm still getting one. Waiting on my Brat as well. On order, just not here.
