skottoman ?
Is that an aluminum upper deck? If so, homemade or aftermarked part?

That TG10 looks like it started off as a TG10PRO, right?

That TG10 has a GPM alloy upper deck (THICK!) and GPM blue alloy arms and hubs. Just one of the many versions I've built. I have 2 TG.10 MK1 Pro kits in parts...

Ok.
By the way, I was wondering where you guys went. Posting frenzy lately and then suddenly NOTHING for two days...?
Anyways, MY TG10LA did NOT start life as a TG10PRO. It is a 44026 TG10 Novarossi.
...And then I modded the chassis...

When I was done, there were a few leftover parts which I threw together and ended up with this:

Oh and i just found a NIB TG10 Pro Long arm kit on EBAY... and bought it. Along with another TB01 Subaru Proto.

Guess my NIB collection is growing....

I don't plan on opening or building the NIB TG10 Pro kit..... I have a few already in parts to build...

No Lunchboxer, I don't really dig the off road stuff that much. I have a TLT-1, and a tamtech frog, and that's about it. Just really prefer the onroad stuff and chassis tuning.
I'm clearing space in my basement for the NIB collection I've started.

It's really nice to get into the TB01 now, as I have so many TG parts, and most are interchangable...

Also found an aluminum TB/TG steering set on ebay... got that too. Although I already have 2 sets! Buahaha...

I'm an addict.

Skottoman

Don't buy out all the aluminum steering sets now, okay?! Leave some for us... (joke)

I'd like to hear from you regarding the standard TB-01 setup vs. the hop-up.. what kind of imrpvoement you get using the aluminum set... !

Haven't gotten the TB01's yet, but they'll likely remain NIB for a while...

With free shipping I paid $117 each for the two TB01 Subaru Prototypes I ordered.

Hey LB. How do you like your Sidewinder in your TB01?
I have 5700 and 4600 kits sitting in my stash waiting to be used for the first time...

How does it go?

I haven't ran it outdoor yet.. but just indoor, it has plenty of power.. Like I said, when I pulled the throttle, it would light up all 4 and leave 2 black marks on the tiles.. (not good, need to clean them.. [:@] )

I run the 5700kv setup w/ a 2S 5,000mAh LiPo..

No cogging, etc. (updated to the latest firmware, etc.)

Not bad!

I can't wait to finish the shell (the paint should arrive today or tomorrow, with cough, another CR-01, cough..) and then start running it outside!!

Another CR-01?

Well, my TB01's should start arriving this week. Both of em... Heh. Will prob just end up opening 1 to see what's inside, and leave the second NIB and packed in my basement with my other NIB's.
Still need to put a brushless system in a car. I just have plain old NIMH batteries, but they should be sufficient for my needs. Plus I don't know if I want to start messing with LiPo's, as they can blow up, and are expensive!

Next on my list of to-do's is to convert all my batteries and cars to DEANS ultra plugs. Time to ditch the white Tamiya connectors.... Gotta bust out the soldering gun!
Cheers,
Skottoman

LOL, yeah.. I like Deans.. but the thing with them is that once you start changing them, you need to do that for ALL your ESC / batteries.. LOL!

No problem w/ LiPo for me.. to me, they are more expensive for sure.. but the prices are coming down! Other than that, there's really no downside.. ha! Once you start using it, you will like it!

In terms of performance, it makes a big difference when you run higher power BL system...

First of TWO Subaru Prototype TB01's arrived! WOOT! Went into a plastic bag, and wrapped up, shrinkwrap and all into my NIB storage area. Second one will be opened and checked out!

Also, I do think I'll switch all my batteries/esc's to DEANS. Will take a lot of soldering, but should be worth it.

I'll wait a bit more on LiPo. See how the brushless systems perform with the plain ol' stick packs and deans. Then go from there!
Cheers,
Skottoman

Wouldn't it be easier if you open this one and keep the next one NIB?! hee hee.. so you can enjoy the kit earlier.. (just messing around..)

Brushless will be fine w/ stick packs.. esp. sensored ones.. also, if the BL setup is not very extreme (i.e., not pushing the battery to the limit..) the LiPo advantage won't show up obviously...

Anyway, you can always do LiPo later, so that's not an issue!!

I have TONS of other projects, so don't know when I'll build it up. I usually don't do box art... I like to experiment with new stuff.
Sometimes it turns out great, other times it's horrible! Hahaha...

For a Subie, it is hard to imagine it not being blue.. but I think any metallic color will look great!!

Ok, I'm looking at this thing, and even the presentation in the box is quite nice! Colors, all laid out nicely. They just don't do this anymore. At least not on the latest kits I've purchased.
I think I will probably do a Boxart version of this. Just too nice of a complete kit not to.

I was also trying to find pix of others with the TB01 Subaru Proto, and they seem hard to find! Rare!!! WOOT!
Cheers,
Skottoman
