just got an original celica, im not alloed it until xmas but as far as i can see its pretty nice, just has the wrong wheels and a missing foglight.
technigold is there and aparently the body has no cracks..

hey guys.im on here like twice a year maybe.and im really lookkng to upgrade my old porsche 959 and snag the erevo.anyways i just wanted someone to have it tha would shelf queen it or love owning it.its all original but old.mo knobbies left and body kinda bea up.still have remote and battery charger ect. anyone intersred email me or hit me up here.these messages go to my email so i see em.i was hoping to get enough for it to get the e revo brushless mamba monster truck. o i have the manual also. thx

Ebay is your friend though they are very hard to get. If you do not insist on original, just change the wheel axels with those of modern cars and you will be able to install all 1:10 tires ;). I have it this way on mine 959.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I've had several Tamiya R/C cars during my youth and early adulthood built them up, ran them, and rebuilt them. I've recently picked up a pretty well used but complete 959 which Iam slowly restoring. If there are any one else on this forum doing the same, perhaps we can share resources and parts. I have taken the chassis apart and am cleaningeverything includingpolishing the brass ball joints. I'm alsolooking for a clean original body if any one here has one that they can part with, please send me a PM. I'll post some photographs once I figure out this forum's system.

here is my celica, i think it started life as a 959 but i for prefer the celica body shape, it now has full metal bearings, stabiliser kit, original msc,
i have completely stripped it back to nothing and built it up again, there are 3 cracked parts but nothing major, one rear lower arm, one rear upright and the front bracket that holds the front bumper and stabiliser on.
the front gearbox was siezed, just very sticky and hard grease, the technigold is mint inside but the lable is peeling,
the body had some minor cracks but nothing i cant live with. i bought a blue groove replacement body to keep unpainted for display.

and yes i have used it outside, it is fast.. very fast, quiet and smoothe. i will use it again!!!

hey guys, how are ya. just wanted to run it by you that i have a porsche 959 from the 80,s when they came out. been sitting forever. times are rough and i wanted to sell it. i has the orgiinal futaba controller and charger and manual. its missing one part i was goin to try to find n get but just havent. the steering little servo box. the rod slips and doesnt catch like its stripped but could just be the little piece on top of servo that the rod connects to. so it doesnt steer,lol. anyway, its in good condition no broken parts or plastic ect. i was wondering if anyone on here would want it . we could figure out a good price and just roll with it. contact me at 85 0 22 5 0454. names jon. thx guys..

i am looking for a few parts,

rear arms, rear uprights and the small black plastic part that the front stabiliser bolts through.

i know these bits are getting hard to find but would anyone have some laying around to help me out at all?

There is a guy from Taiwan that is producing aluminum CNC'd suspension parts for the 959 that include the front upper and lower arms as well as the rear swing arms. He sells on the EBay UK site but doesn't seem to advertise here. I'll look and post his link here.

I found a decent condition car though very muddy and stripped it all down, cleaned and polished everything replacing everything that was scratched including the bottom skid plates and center chassis/battery holder section. EBay was the source of everything you see including two new sets of the knobby rally tires, wheels and a set of ball bearings at all four wheels. I recently stumbled upon a complete factory body with the Rothman's decals for an OK price. I have trimmed the body and set it on top of the chassis for this photograph. Next up will Be to mask and airbrush the not so simple paint scheme.</span></div><div>

Yes. I was just toying around with a disk I found with Tamiya sticker kits on it. I did however make the mistake of putting them on my Blackfoot. Looked great until they got wet! Terrible idea.

Going through doing a thorough restoration of my 959, I've noticed that there may be several changes or modificatons made to the parts on the Tamiya 959 over the course of it's production.  I've noticed that on the front axle uprights, there is a version with a extra vertical guard like piece molded onto each part, also there are two different drive shafts, one shaft with a short pin at each end while the other style drive shaft has a flattened blade at each end. Each design requires it's own unique short and long shafts that go into the gear boxes.  Can anyone confirm or note any other variations?
