The Southern Kentucky Model Aero Club (SKYMAC) is starting a new weekly stress reliever, SSC!!!

We are planning on starting every Friday night throughout the flying season and when weather permits to hold combat rounds for fun! IF you have a combat plane, bu sure to be there!! Even if your brave and have a ratty J-3 Cub and want to enter.... more fun!!! Haha!!

Seriously, we focus on the Battle Axe rigging with .15 LA, and Master Airscrew Props. But it's, "Run what ya'BRUNG!"

Hi Philip,

Sounds like a good plan!

I'd like to head up one friday and fly with you guys. The next month is pretty busy, but maybe sometime over the summer.

Will do. A small group of us got together last week and had a couple good "refresher" combat rounds..... some of us it was the first time all year to get our hands on a transmitter!! haha!! Out of the 4 planes we had that day.... I think all survived! Tough little buggars I tell you that!! Thumped straight in, just need a prop!! I am gonna invest in stock of master airscrew if i keep this flying up!!

Come on any week, weather permitting we will be there!

This might just fit the gap in contest this year. My vacation time is taken up this year going to Peru, ILL to umpire the U.S. Central Senior Little League tournament for a week. But I might be able to come down and fly with you guys. I am just over the river from Louisville.

Dave and BNC, just toss a combat plane in the car and if your in the area let us know and we will make something happen!!

We just figured that what better way to take out a little stress at the end of the week than wrecking some planes!! haha!!! Assured to be fun at the least!!!

I'm close enough to come play some weekend but I made the mistake of building my Battle-Axe too nice. New gear, new engine and took the time for low temp covering. I have to scratch it up somehow so I won't be afraid to bang it up in combat.

Weather is BEAUTIFUL!!! If your out, swing on in to SKYMAC this afternoon for some good fun!! Already have about 6-8 confirmed to be in the battle!!

Hey guys... geesh did you miss out on some good times tonight!! The first night of SKYMAC's "Friday Night Fights" took in 7 pilots, and at least 10 midairs!! haha!! all in good fun, and I think everyone was repaired and flying again before the night was over. We got in about 3.5 rounds of fun! If you didn't make it this week, make plans for next week.... sure to me more good fun coming!

Whoa, had a great time last night at the Friday Night Fights at SKYMAC..... photos up coming!!! Even some on board footage courtesy from Bill Goodman!

Get your combat planes ready, as this coming Friday (May 27, 2011) has a HUGE COMBAT round in store! I understand there are going to be several form other states in BG for that evenings round!!

We got in four full rounds last night, with time for repairs between each!

Come on out and have a great time with some friends!! Let me know if you need any information about how to get to SKYMAC or need accommodations in the area!!!

Dane, we have ambitions of working our way into an annual combat event sometime. Something for a nationals qualifier in our area. I think the closest one for people here is iether in Muncie, or in TX with you guys.

We have an annual sanctioned SSC combat event in Jackson, TN each year. Probably about 3 hours from you. We have traditionally held it the 3rd saturday of June but moved it to September this year, because in June on the day of the event it's usually about 110 in the shade. We'll have the offical date after the next club meeting in a couple of weeks. There are also some events in Ohio that probably aren't too far from you.

Alex, I didnt know that!! I will definitely share that with the guys! Hey, I think you have been up here before, but want to give you a direct invite for this coming Friday, May 27. It is looking like that if weatehr permits we will have a record turnout for our Friday Night Fights at SKYMAC. I believe as of right now I know of 14-16 guys that will be out! Sure to be some wild fun that evening. A great way to start off the Memorial Day weekend if your free!

For that matter, everyone in the area grab a combat plane and head to Bowling Green, KY!!!

Whoa, what a night we had last night.... sorry no pictures this time, got too busy flying in the 6 rounds we had! Lots of fun, and several midairs. Had 9 planes up at a time, and I must admit.... at least twice I know of I was flying someone else's plane!! haha!! Oh well.... It was a blast!! Everyone needs to get one round uof combat under their belt in order to call themselves a model aviator!!!

Remember, Every Friday this summer at SKYMAC!

Not to mention the Bluegrass Jet Jam this coming weekend, June 2-4, 2011!!
